im getting a LITTLE BREAK today

im finally getting what you could say is a small break from mom today. My grandson is having a birthday party today. he will be 4 tomorrow. my sister came over to visit so i get to get out (just next door) for a little while. My sister is going to try to get her over to the party for a few min. i don't know how that is going to turn out. She does not handle crowds to well. we'll see.

I hope that party was wonderful! Age 4 is great. None of our 9 grandkids live within thousands of miles of us, so we don't get to see them often, but do have two beautiful 4 year old granddaughters. Blessings.

my husband had AD.. and I need a break every few weeks as it a 24/7 time... and a break for your own mental health is the best... no matter how you get it... I used to feel guilty but I do not any longer... I cannot give him the care he needs if I do not maintain my mental health.. we bought a small cabin in the mountains a few hours from our home to enjoy until he got sick... now it just makes him so confused to do there... so something that was to mean so much to us now is my respite... I offer it to others in my support group when it is not rented.. it is in the woods and can be quiet and relaxing.. and I know how recharged I get.. I hope you have that sort of place.. also in our state our AD association has respite grants to pay someone to help come in and stay or for a short week in a place that can watch and care for your loved one while you get a real break.. I hope you have that where you are... Blessings and enjoy your lovely birthday party... really party it up.. 4 year olds know how to have a great time...
