What Alternative Therapies are you using

0 Recommendations

Hello All,
I'm new to the group Alternative Therapies.
It's great being here with you.

What alternative therapies have you found useful to your healing process?,

Along my journey there's been a few.
Currently the new item that I purchased yesterday, after reading a short book on respiratory conditions, was Oregano Oil and Olive leaf.

It's my belief that my health is affected by what I eat and how well I eliminate toxins.

How do you see yourself working toward improving your health?

It has been my experience that you have to work on the mind, body, spirit connection. Intake is vital, whether that be food, information or thoughts. I use meditation, especially with color to restore cells to a balanced healthy state. Raw foods also help me to feel better. I also use affirmations and prayer. I do take quite a few supplements and many enzymes.
Thank you for asking this question.
Tami

Thanks for sharing Tami,
I agree with you. It takes mind, body and spirit to maintain and restore ones health.

Being grateful, affirmations and prayers definitley make a HUGE difference..

I too am eating less cooked food and more raw food.

Tell me more about what enzymes you take.
What do you think about having a more alkaline diet?

I had a live blood analysis done and it showed I had an acidic system. So since then I have been eating raw foods, preferably organic, but not always, at least once a day and twice is better. I married a farmer so totally raw would not go over well at the house. The enzymes that I take are two different kinds. I take a product called "VitalzymX" in the mornings on an empty stomach to reduce inflammation, reduce scar tissue, and improve circulation. The other enzymes I take are digestive enzymes called "Metazyme". The digestive enzymes were recommended by the person that did the live blood cell analysis. All the vitamins I take are plant based.
I have also used accupuncture and Quantum-Touch for alternative healing methods.
Tami

Tami,
I like what you are doing.
Have you noticed a benefit from your practices?

Where do you purchase the Vitalymx?
Reducing inflammation is a excellent idea. That's part of the sarcoid-sccleroderma drama.

You married a farmer. How nice. You are close to dirt and nature.
Science have created a lot of inventions, but yet able to creat edirt..... LOL

Have you ever used aromatherapy?

Have the best day ever!!

Hello Tami -
The complementary therapies that have supported science include:
acupuncture (for pain control, iincreased range of motion and nausea/digestion issues)
nutrition (for immune support, prevention of malnutrition and subclinical nutrient deficiencies, etc.)
psychoneuroimmunology (mind-body-spirit biofeedback and visualization)
art and music therapy as well as "journalling"
Botanical medicine
Various "healing touch" modalities including rolfing, reflexology and others
Physical exercise
Prayer or spirituality practices
Meditiation
I could go on. The point is that there are many different aspects of the healing model for cancer patients and I like to recommend a number of them to patients who are searching for a way to cover all the bases.
I hope this encourages you and others to pursue knowledge about the wonderful CAM modalities that are availabe (many of them at local cancer support centers!)

Thanks Dr Kim,
All of the therapies that you have recommended are awesome. Each of them compliments each other and can be used in combination as well with western medicine.

How are you patients finding using eastern medicine helpful?

Hi Everybody,

The use of alternative medicine therapies can be very helpful and provide help when allopathic medicine is ineffective. I like what everyone has mentioned but would like to add energy medicine such as scenar therapy (invented in Russia) and the Ondamed (invented in Germany) can also be of great value. These devices are highly sophisticated and if you google them you'll find practitioners in the U.S. Also, there's computerized electrodermal screening which uses homeopathics based on the findings of the computer which has attachments and uses all the finger points to show where the energy is not normal. All these techniques are excellent and it's sad that they aren't part of mainstream medicine. The U.S. is far behind other parts of the world because of the influence of the drug companies. The average doctor knows nothing about energy medicine to the disadvantage of patients. And, yes even doctors are patients....

Thanks for the recommendations of the energy methods. I will google them.

There is a solution for all illness not always found in a pill.

Greetings I am grateful,

I agree with you that the bodyshould be disposed of as many daily toxins that are absorbed through the skin and cleansed with a diet rich in vitamins and minerals we need to perform at our very best. The best solution to most ailments is find the core cause, attend to it, minimize it if possible, eliminate it if probable and move gracefully through the healing process of any dis-ease !

sharing the light,

Wow, a lot of good suggestions. I have had good results with taking care of myself through a lot of different areas...plenty of rest, exercise, as much of raw vegetables and fruits as possible. I also supplement since just eating well didn't take care of the pain. I found a really great supplement for my inflammation that has done wonders. A friend referred me. Not only was it good for my joints, but also the interstitial cystitis and chronic bladder infections I'd had for years. Try using Arthaffect sometime.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've never heard of Arthaffect before. Can one purschase this product at the drug store?
