I just got back from the hospital. I went there to the ER because I was vomiting a lot and my wife feared I would be dehydrated, They kept me there for four days. While I was there, the tests they did on me indicated my gall bladder is bad. The surgeon and anesthesiologist said that if they took my gall bladder out I would be trached and In ICU for four weeks.
I know I will need a trach, but not this soon. He scared me to death. What do you all think?

I am new at this as far as the doc,s I have had this for almost 2 years but did not know it and then bammm!I would not want a vent yet , i have a bipap and love that, i have drop foot and hate that, i talk because of predisone, i have shortness of breath and hate that, take care, judie

Not sure what a "bad" gall bladder means...do you have gall stones? Never hurts to get a second opinion from a different doc - perhaps one more familiar with ALS complications. I do know that once you start with the surgeries....it just never seems to end. Make your decision with all the available information and weigh the pros and cons of each.
