Recently i was diagnosed with depression and I was wondering if there is any wish granting or similar organizations that would be willing to grant my wish. My wish is to meet the Princes of Wales. I don't have a terminal illness but I was wondering if there was any organization that would help me get my wish fulfilled. Ever since I got diagnosed I've cried a lot. I have trouble making friends. I would like to meet them because they visit the sick. I'm very sick with depression. I don't know if there is any organization maybe a religious one, I believe in God, that will grant my wish.

not sure you understand just what these disease's are on this sight our loved one's are fighting a battle from hell. depression can be treated with med's. A.L.S. not so simple. if you find a org. that grants wishes please send them my way

There are hundreds of depression support grps online..if u do a search of yahoo groups you will find them.

I disagree with the above poster in that depression can be very debilitating. Medications help and I hope you explore that route, bit be patient because they take time to work, and you may have to try several different drugs before you find what works.

I am sorry but I only know of one foundation that grants wishes to adults, but you have to be within 6 months of death. You can live a very meaningful life if you manage your depression. Unfortunately the people on this list don't have that hope because they have been issued a death sentence.

I wish you the best of luck. I have battled depression and I have never valued life the way I do now, after getting the death sentence of ALS. I am fighting for my life, after a life of fighting the pain of depression and often not being able to find a reason to live. How ironic!!

Have a little compassion. It's not "simple" to fight depression. I have been fighting depression long before my ALS dx. Sometimes medication doesn't work, and often depression leads to suicide. I for one don't believe in disease comparison because everybody has a cross to bear.

I've been told many times that cancer is worse than ALS, and I say "but there's chemo". However, that's no day at the beach either, and many cancer patients die a painful death anyway. I have family and friends who have no problem visiting bald and emaciated terminal cancer patients, but won't see me because it's "too disturbing". Go figure!!

YOU ARE RIGHT WE ALL HAVE A CROSS TO BEAR. AND ABSOLUTLY DEPRESSION IS A DISEASE BY
ITSELF. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I ALSO SUFFER WITH SEVERE DEPRESSION. I HAVE TRIED TO TAKE MY OWN LIFE SO I DO HAVE COMPASSION FOR ANYONE WITH DEPRESSION. I AM NOT TRYING TO BE NEGATIVE TOWARD ANYONE. DEPRESSION IS A KILLER AND YOU DO NEED TO SEEK TREATMENT. SOMETIME'S MED'S HELP AND SOMETIME'S THEY DON'T. I WATCHED MY HUSBAND DIE FOR 19 MONTH'S. THAT WAS BRUTAL AND IT ACTUALLY FELT LIKE I WAS IN A NIGHTMARE WITH NO ESCAPE. SO I DO HAVE COMPASSION AND IF THIS PERSON HAS DEPRESSION THEN YES THEY NEED TO GET HELP FAST. ALSO LOU GEHRIG'S DISEASE ID BRUTAL AND CRUEL. BUT SO IS CANCER,AS FAR AS GETTING A WISH COME TRUE I HOPE THEY DO HELP THIS PERSON. SO COMPASSION I HAVE BUT I ALSO BELIEVE THEY TO GET HELP.AS I SAID THERE IS NO CURE FOR A.L.S. DEPRESSION CAN BE CONTROLLED IF ON THE RIGHT MED'S. I TRULY HOPE THAT CHICK6666 GET'S THE HELP THEY NEED.
