Looking for some gift ideas for a holiday gift guide for the ALS Association Greater New York Chapter's newsletter and website. Anything people can think of as appropriate gifts for PALS would be very helpful and appreciated. Thanks.

Great ideas. Thanks. If you think of more, let me know. We have some lead time. Also, if you have a specific brand or product that's better than others, let me know.
Here are a couple ideas:
*Satin or slippery material PJs ---they move easier in bed
*Microwave heatable bean or corn bags -- great under the covers at the foot of the bed on cold nights
*Microwave heatable gloves or slippers
*No-tie shoe laces
*Suction hand grip bars
*One touch can opener or jar opener --seen in TV promos, but I found them at WalMart
*Dry erase markers/boards for PALS who are loosing their speech
*Athletic pants with leg zippers or snaps --easier to remove without taking off UFO braces
*Pre addresssed, stamped envelopes/cards to send for family birthdays & anniversaries
All seemed great but this one caught my eye: Microwave heatable bean or corn bags . Is this a product or do you mean, frozen veggies?
Thanks.
The bags are small material sacks of dried corn or beans. You heat them for 2 minutes and they stay hot for 1-2 hours. I bought several at a local business, but they would be very easy to sew a couple of rectangles of material together and fill it with corn. If the corn dries out you can sprinkle the bag with water before heating.
I have seen similar things, made with rice, in Bed, Bath & Beyond, in handicap aid catalogues, and on line. But most of them are bigger, like for around the neck and a bit expensive.
Here's a link to the MDA's annual gift guide from their Quest magazine...happy shopping!
