My name is Linda Gibson – I am caregiver to my daughter, Marcie who has ALS – Lou Gehrig’s disease.
A group of CALS (caregivers of people with ALS) and PALS (people with ALS) have decided we are tired of the general public not knowing what ALS is and what it does to family’s whose loved ones have ALS. And we want the people in Washington to know about ALS and the expense our families must pay to keep our loved ones at home with all the needed equipment they need to live.
We are hoping to contact 4 major TV personality’s all at the same time in a few weeks to see if anyone will help us “plea our case” to tell the public about ALS. We are going to do this by written them personal letters about our loved one and our family.
I am gathering e-mail address for all those interested in helping us “Band Together for ALS”. We have a blog site we are working on which will be open to the public soon. On this blog we are beginning to post our letters to give others, like yourself, ideas of want to write in your letter to these 4 celebrates – we may be sending to magazines also.
If you are a CALS or PALS and interested in the “Banding Together for ALS” project – please contact me and I will put your e-mail address on the listing so you can also add your story to be sent to TV personalities. My email address is lindafgibson@tx.rr.com. You must put “Banding Together for ALS” in the subject line or I will not open your e-mail.
