HI all...I'm trying to locate a good ALS doctor for my friend in the Louisiana area. We could make a day trip out of it if you know someone in the surrounding states. I don't live down in that area so I'm lost trying to locate one. Looks like LA has no ALS centers of excellence--which is frustrating. Any idea's?
Jennifer, the Louisiana ALSA has a clinic in Layfayette, and I go to the MDA/ALS clinic in Houston ran by Dr. Stanley Appel.
I ALSO HAVE HEARD THAT DR.STANLEY APPEL IS VERY GOOD ALTHOUGH I HAVE NO GONE TO SEE HIM YET. HE WAS RECOMMENDED BY SEVERAL PEOPLE I TRUST AS BEING ONE OF THE BEST IN THE AREA.
I go to the ALS clinic in Lafayette, LA. I also go to the ALS clinic at Baylor Houston. Dr. Harati and his staff are wonderful in Houston. I've been going there for 3 years. They received ana award of excellence. Let me know if you're interested. Wish you the best.
