Lymphedema

In Side effects of treatment

Has anyone had lymphedema? I just had my surgery Aug. 18 (following 8 rounds of chemo). Just today I had a kind of sharp pain upon touch under my arm into the breast tissue. Once I rubbed it it went away. I also have a similar soreness in my leg. I've read about lympedema but of course am not sure that is what this is. It would make sense. How does one deal with this? As always, thanks much!

Some physical therapists are skilled in dealing with lymphedema....it's a specialty.

Hi,
Do you have any edema?? That is the biggest symptom of lymphadema. There are some things that can be done and your onc can tell you about that. I would tell my Onc and make sure it is lymphadema first. Good luck~~~Joanne
