Well I got the results back spoke to the Nurse Practioner who I like a great deal , and shes tells me this my CA 125 WENT DOWN from 26 to 20...so they want to test me in 4 weeks to see if it goes up or down. Now talking to her normally I would not be worried BUT I did tell her about some bowel habits Im concerned about , lets just say I feel my stool ( which the color is good not constipation or lose stool ) but I feel for me NARROW ( about as wide of my thumb)
His reply both doctors on my team ARENT really worried over it and stool can narrow out and pass smaller through they tell me , I brought up colon cancer , they said not with your bloodwork numbers. So heres my question do I call them monday and demand a catscan or more follow up now , or wait till they want till my bloodwork in 4 weeks with a doctors appointment to flow about that time?
I dont know maybe Im skittish but after getting OC I just feel the need to be more persistant. I have some of the best doctors and they are great, but should I be pushy and really push?
I dont really have anything else wrong with me and feel good.

Do you take any herb medicine? My stool is also my thumb wide after I take some herb medicine. Also if you have broken scars inside could affect your colon, this is my case.

When is the last time you had a colonoscopy? I am 54 and had one in my late 40s. They recommend them routinely after age 50. I insisted on a PET scan with my oncologist which checks you from head to toe for cancer activity. Trouble is insurance doesn't like to pay but everyone's is different. My bowel movements change and have been thinner as well. I am told you develop scar tissue within the first year after your surgery.

I spoke to the doctor, Im 35 almost 36, and saud why not a colonoscopy? Pet scan isnt an issue with him, or Cat scan, but he feels since my CA dropped 6 points , and Im well in the normal range with no other symptoms hes ok with it.

He also said scar tissue can happen. Im being tested in less than three weeks again with my blood if it really goes out of the range again, hes going to order one .
He told me for now to just not worry too much.
and wait the three weeks, Thank you both for your replies through, it helps to hear what others went through.....

Songbird,
I have ovca and colon cancer. Your Dr's are both correct, your numbers wouldn't be so low if there was a problem. I believe checking your ca-125 in 3 weeks is a good solution..and keep testing it. I have alot of bowel issues, but I know alot of it has to do with scar tissue....and all the chemo I have been on lately. How do you feel?? Do you overall feel good?? That really means alot. I know of ladies whose ca-125 are in the hundreds, they feel great and have negative ct and pt scans. There are alot of Onc's (mine included) that will not treat based on ca numbers only. They wait until it shows up on exams. At first this drove me crazy..but little by little I read more and more about not treating the numbers but the disease. The reason behind this is because everyone ca-125 reacts differently, some are much more sensitive that others. I was filled with cancer and had a ca-125 of 204,but yet I know of a girl whose ca-125 was 4000 and she is a 1c. In both recurrences my disease was caught when my numbers were not only slightly elevated 62 and 44, but I also started to feel poorly again. My Onc told me to trust my feelings...they are usually right on target. After 3.5 years of this merry-go-round both me and my Onc have learned alot about my disease...when to start to worry and when to not. Keeping off chemo as long as possible is really not only heathier for you, but you don't want to waste your really good chemos for escalating numbers without any evidence of diesase. I hope your next test goes way down..and you feel better and better everyday!!~~~~Joanne
