checkup time

0 Recommendations

Friday is checkup time again. I thought I was doing well, then I started getting nervous. It's been about 4 months since my last visit , 5 mo since I finished chemo, so I guess they will do a ca-125 this time. I gotta ask has anyone with stage 1c had a recurrence? I also had 2a uterine at the same time.

Hello,
While I have heard of recurrences in ladies with 1c,the only one I know was good for over 5 years. My sister also has 1c and she never had any chemo, just surgery and it has been 3.5 years for her and all is well. I'm not sure about uterine cancer, as i don't think it's as deadly as ovca. I still get a little nervous when it's time for a check up,but I go through a little check list in my head..how do you feel..hows your pain level, are you fatiqued? Most of the time when I answer these questions of myself they are all good..and it helps to relax me. Try to relax and under no circumstances allow this disease to take anymore of your life than it already has and does!!!! Good luck!!~~~Joanne

I know how you feel I went for my checkup yesterday
and I am always nervous and its been 14 years
with one recurrence after 4 1/2 years and I have
been off everything for 7 yrs. You never get used
to it . I die until I get that call on what my blood work
is. I was also 1C but you can't go by me. As my
doctor says everyone is different. So because I
did get a recurrence doesn't mean you will. I will
pray for you and all the other wonderful people on this
site.
Good Luck

Anita

Thanks, Anita. What kind of recurrence did you have and how did they treat it?
