Starting to document my experience in the hopes that it will help someone else going through the same.
For the last year and a half I have had problems with severe constipation. Tried changes in diet, exercise, various fiber, laxative and meds, without success. Had 2 failed colonoscopies, 1 failed barium enema, colon inertia tests, etc. All this led to a diagnosis of colonic inertiaplus an extra 3 ft of colon that did a lot of twisting and looping.
Once they actually got all the tests and results, things moved along pretty quickly. Within 2wks of the diagnosis, I was in the hospital having the procedure.
There were some complications, so instead of 3-5 days , it was 12 days.
Once I got home, I was off all pain meds within a week.
After 3 wks, I'm doing pretty good. Trying to push myself activity-wise, without overdoing, but by the end of the day, I'm pretty sore and tired.
Still on soft foods, soups, rice, etc.,no raw fruits or vegetables but otherwise OK.
