I am concerned that the antibiotic liquid, eryped, isn't making a difference...how do people find domiperidone? My dr mentioned it, and I've read about people on it...if you've tried it, does it work for you? How do you get it?

You can get it on the internet. One GI Dr. told me just to google search it, and order it from the cheapest rx I could find (not the best idea in my opinion, but I guess it works) My other GI Dr. was able to help me get it through a specialty rx in our hometown. Although the drug is not FDA approved, we have a specialty rx that can help you get the script filled through a reputable rx outside the US as long as you have a script from your Dr.
I have ordered it from New Zealand. The pharmacy there (when you call all they say is "pharmacy" sells 100 10mg tablets for $30 and free shipping. It is even cheaper if you buy more. The shipping takes some time-about 2 weeks.
The number is 877-271-6591.
I was happy with the product and there were no unexpected charges on my card. My doctor gave me the number.
Clearly, I can't advise anyone about whether this is a good option for them nor I fully understand the legal consequences of purchasing the medicine this way.
Another poster mentioned that you can get propulsid from New Zealand also.
I, too, get my Dom. from New Zealand. They (the manufacturer has actually changed the name to Motillium (You can order eaither way.)
As Katie said, the more you order, the cheaper it is. I get 1200 pills for $135.00. I have been using these\.folks for 7 years, I have never had a prescription or sny kind of problem. They are wicked friendly snd helpful.
One point to remember, you have to call them AFTER 9 PM EST as the time difference. If you call when they are closed, they will return the call.
They also have a web-site (for which the name escapes me at present.)
Good luck and if you need and detailed info, request request me as a friend and wee can tak privately.
Good luck and don't get them through Canada-prices are rediculous!!

Has anyone heard of a way to get insurance to cover the cost of these meds? Or if not, are you able to use $ from health care flex spending account to cover the cost?
I'm wondering if I go the FDA route for the propulsid if Oxford will pay for it.
My doctor gave me a script for it and I faxed it to a Canadian pharmacy I found online. It only cost $20 and they filled it that night and sent it out to me. They were extremely efficient. I just wish it had worked for me! But it works for a lot of people so definitely try it!

The same pharmacy number I posted above also has propulsid. It is $105 for 210 10 milligram tablets with free shipping that 10-14 days.
Definitely go with New Zealand. It's by far the cheapest place out there, and I have found that it ships pretty fast. I just got 600 pills for $77. Cheaper than if it was covered by insurance!
My experience is that my insurance would not cover Domperidone. I'm pretty sure flex dollars couldn't be used either because it's not FDA approved.
Love & prayers, Gajudy
New Zealand. Actually, and island off NZ called Vanuatu. inhousepharmacy.com, or you can call around 6pm Eastern (phone # listed in other posts above). They're great, and relatively cheap. I have been taking Domperidone (brand name Motillium) for almost 2 years. Works very well. Take 20-30 min. before eating. The only drawback I see is that sometimes I get hungry, but then have to first take the pill and wait before I can eat. (Most times, I'm not hungry and then taking the pill makes me feel hungry).
That's very helpful, even moreso that I'm having complications with my EryPed...(only a 10 day supply for $35...and pharmacy is sure it's discontinued even though it's not)...thank you. Do you notice any improvement in pain, I constantly have pain on the right and sometimes left side and always across the lower abdomen. EryPed didn't do much for that...
When I first started taking it, I ordered it from New Zealand and then refiled it a couple of times. Then the next time they told me they didn't sell it, so I ordered it from Canada Pharmacy and it actually comes from England. I am nor really sure it helps me. I read somewhere that when your GI system gets so bad, it really doesn't help to take it. So anyhow, my GI doc had increased the dosage to 2 pills 4 x a day and I developed side effects from that dosage. Dizziness and insomnia. I stopped it for a few weeks and started it again at a lower dose and had same problems. I see my GI doc in Aug. so will discuss with him.
I ordered Domperidone through CanadaPharmacy.com,
1-800-891-0844. Your doctor will need to fax them a prescription. They had a special price of 90 tablets for $21 (+ $10 shipping). Figured this would be a good amount to test the drug. After feeling strange for a day or so I adjusted to the medicine. I thought I felt better but realized it really wasn't helping so I'm going to try doubling the dose to 20 mg 3 x/day (vs. 10mg). This made all the difference for another person on this website. As you know, everyone is different so you may have to experiment a bit. Good luck and keep us posted!
Hi, I used the Canadapharmacyonline.com you can get 500 for $79.00. 1-866-920-3724. The medication is made in Toronto and the pharmacy is in British Columbia. I know the maker in Toronto and it is a highly respected medicine research facility. I found that the domperidone had helped the nausea and motility considerably. I still get break through and I take my zofran but insurance will only give me 12 a month. I was just told to increase to 10 mg 4 times a day as I am not moving food thro the stomach and bowel. The erythro did not help me long term, even though we all have the same symptoms the drug regime is different in everyone, it is a trial and error. Hope this helps.
Check to see if there are any compound pharmacies in your area.I hear it is cheaper online though just be careful
I take 20mg. 4 times daily and have since the experimental stage. I get it from New Zealand via my GI recommenation. They are by far the cheapest! We have never had any problems with them.
Recently my GI told me to also order Propulcid from New Zealand to take along with the Domperidone. I have taken the two together in the past and find that is what has worked best for me ever. I was very happy to find that New Zealand also carries the Propulsid! She recently started me on the GI coctail (which has nothing to do with anything already discussed...just thought I would share my experience with that also) three times daily and it has helped me greatly.
I don't have the finances to order the Propulsid yet, but as soon as I do, I will.
I did want to mention that the Domperidone has worked for me intermittently. I have had to stop it for a week or so and then restart it for it to be beneficial. I also had to do the same with the Propulsid in the past. I am very anxious to get things going with the three of them.
Let us know how you come out with ordering and if it works for you.
I had a doctor appointment this week, and he was very kind and helpful. A breath of fresh air, from what I've been dealing with as far as doctors go. Anyways, he mentioned that a pharmacy near me was actually selling it, he had filled 6 prescriptions already this week so as soon as I can get over there, I'm getting it fllled. The pharmacy is nearer than Canada (hahaha) but it's still 45 mins or so away from me, and open the same hours I work.
I'll let you know if I can get it filled...hopefully this helps a bit.
You can order it from canada and the uk. look on-line.
