Hi everyone! so my question is that i have heard a lot of bad things about prozac. I am 27 years old and about 2 years ago I got dignoised with gastroparesis and when I was about 12 my parents put me on Prozac for about 5 years. I have heard that Prozac can cause this... is this true? Can I contact a lawyer for that? I have to live with this everyday of my life, I know you understand. help

Prozac Depression Gastroparesis

I was put on Prozac for a little while when I was much younger to treat depression and before I had gastroparesis. I have never heard of a link between gastroparesis and Prozac before. The Prozac helped me, but I had to eventually quit taking it because I started to lose too much weight on it which I did not really have that much to loosein the first place. If you find out anything else, I would be curious to know. I hope that you may find out the answers you are seeking. Best of wishes.

Warm regards,
Bobbiejo

Hmmm...interesting...I have gastroparesis and I'm on prozac...

My 13 year old daughter has been on Prozac the past three months and has developed GP in the past two weeks. I'm going to make the Dr. take her off the meds and hope it's not too late to turn this around. I was told by her counselor that her problem doesn't even call for Prozac. So tired of quack Dr's.

Generic Prozac, caused me great problems. I have just weened off of it by myself. It actually made me swell and got lumps up under my skin. Had been on regular Prozac for years, with no problems. Unfortunately my insurance will only pay for Generic. What do you do to get the real stuff in this case? Anyone know? Interesting, I have GP and never heard of it causing it.
I will definitely talk to my doc about it, before I start it back!!!
