Has anyone had extremely high liver function tests and needed a liver biopsy? My tests seem to fluctuate quite often and originally, my doctor thought it was from the lipids in my TPN. However, I now have use TPN without lipids and my liver function tests have skyrocketed.

My son is TPN dependent and had 2 liver biopsies due to high alk phos, ALT, AST and GGT numbers.....his results showed TPN choleostasis and fibrosis...he was put on mucomyst and his numbers have improved significantly
