recently, over the past year, i have seen many doctors due to my pain in my stomach and unusual eating habits. i have been diagonosed with Gastroparesis.

My ribs will protrude out several minutes after i have eaten. it causes me a lot of pain. doctors cannot figure out what causes this. i had the empty stomach scan, and it proved correct that i had Gastroparesis.

i have been on antiboitics for this, but it made me alot sicker, so i went off it.
what is working for you?
i have also tried motilium but hat didnt work.

i get a lot of morning nausea in the morning and fatigue and i tend to sleep a lot through the day, because i can never sleep at night. i am on sleeping tablets for this.

i am also suffering bad depression and i am on anti depressants. i have been on them for a while, hopefully they will work.

i get miragranes, and i am also on tablets for them, which are helping a lot. as i usually get them every day without my tablets.

i also have Raynaud's in my feet and hands. this doesn't worry me so much however in summer, just in the winter, when i cannot feel my feet. and they turn purple.

i also do not have a gall bladder, as they could not find it, on three occasions.

i have lost a lot of weight due to this, i am losing at least one a half kilos every two weeks because i am not eating daily amounts. i know i should but it hurts a lot. plus the depression doesn't really help me. it hurts to stand, and i cannot wash my hair properly because my arms ache. i know i am not having enough calories, what can i do to get more calories?
i rarely feel hungry. i don't go anywhere during my week and spend it mostly in bed.
will it get so worse, that i will need a feeding tube?
has anyone been that far?
i am scared and frightened

does any one think this all has a link?
please let me here your story. thank you!!

I know all this can be a lot, and scary and especailly at your age. I began with my gp when I was 15, and it took a year to get diagnosed. I also deal with dibilitating migraines, have tried tons of things for it, including nerve blocks for over a year now, and they don't seem to be helpfull anymore. My neurologist had me see another neurologist last week, and she has started me on several new meds, so hoping to get some relief from them soon. The purple feet and hands could be from anemia and/or circulation problems. Mine do that, and the thought is that it is because I'm so anemic (require blood transfusions every so often) and my circulation isn't what it should be. I had my gallbaldder removed when my gp firts started, because it wasn't functioning, a progression of my gp. My gp has also progressed to my bladder and even more of my intestines. Thoughts are that everything I have going on is connected to everything else, and that I have overall autonomic dysfunction. They are starting me on a med for autonomic dysfunction in a couple weeks, since they started 3 mew meds this past week, they wanted to wait a couple weeks to start another med, so if I have problems with any of them it will be easier to figure out which ones. Mine is idiopathic, so no clue why it started. I also have a horrible time sleeping at night.
None of the meds helped me. I have a gastricpacemaker that helps a lot, and wouldn't of made it this far without it. I also have a g-tube to vent/drain my stomach, and a j-tube for meds, and when I'm able to tolerate tube feeds. I also have a central line to get iv meds and TPN (iv nutrition).
I hope they can find something to help you soon. Treating gp can be very frustrating for patient and doctors, so just try and hang in there. I will keep you in my prayers,
Char

Hi ecrose,
When you have GP it can be scary but you have found the right place to get support, info and just a ear when you need to vent.
I use to have really bad headaches when i first found out about this and i to felt it could be from not eating much..
I went on a liquid diet for a short while and i drank carnation instant breakfast then i drank protein powder shake you can get it at the vitimen store along with vitimen powder that is all i took for about a week and all of a sudden i stopped having the pain in my side and i started feeling better, so i tried fat free chesse and i did ok then i tried a small amount of pears and i did ok. This worked for me but everyone is different. What are you eating now? Also, with depression the pills you take could be making it worse have you talked to your doctor about it?
Take small steps and you will come out of this. Each day is a day to say "i will get better" and you will.
We all have bad days and they suck but when you start getting good days it is great so look forward to those and you will have more and more of them... I had my gall bladder out and they say that is what could have caused the GP but at this point who cares just as long as we can manage it..
Please know that we are all diferent but we are the same when it comes to support for each other and you have ours..

Take Care
Marie

I was on a lot of antidepressants with the GP at the beginning, because no one believed me, and I was in chronic pain. Amazing what that does to your head. Now I am on a liquid diet--and no GP meds, which seems to help. It is a chronic problem, though. And it does make life a little complicated. A lot of people on this site have feeding tubes and do better than those without. Some have pacemakers, and some of us just muddle along. I don't think many of us ever feel hungry. I have to plan my liquid diet every day and work my way through it. I don't enjoy eating at all.
Hope you get some answers, but it will get better. If you don't have a really good psych, get one. It's so much better than a primary care physician, and they are usually more knowledgeable about meds side-effects.
Sorry you are here, but welcome to the site.

I think maybe I have the same issue with my ribs that you do! Only on my right side. They ache all the time, right along the bottom rib. When I eat, sometimes the spot gets hot and hard. I have been seeing various doctors and specialists, and have had a lot of imaging done.
On Tuesday I had an endoscopy, and even after not eating for 12 hours, there was still food in my stomach. That coupled with my symptoms, led my GI specialist to the GP diagnosis.
I'm waiting on a biopsy to find out if my side pain is related to bacterial overgrowth in my stomach. Could this be the case for you as well?
