Flimsy clear nails

0 Recommendations

I have had gp for about a year now and my nails have gotten really weak and flimsy. The white part on the tip of my nails are loosing its color and turning transparent. One is a little yellow and I know that means malnutrion. Does anyone know if changing from white to transparent on the tips means anything?

It might be a vitamin or calcium thing. I would check with your doctor on that one. Don't let it go. It is hard to get enough calcium--and I think my GI said something about protein and my brittle nails. But he was giving me all kinds of complements about my general appearance (sallow, sunken eyes, swollen ankles....could go on, but I hate to brag). Do you see nutritionist, or is your PCP or GI good with nutrition?

Yes, I see a nutritionist and I have an apt. later this month. I got blood work done not too long ago, and my nutrition seemed good. But I feel like it might have changed. Thanks for the advice

My nails are horrible too and they have lines on them. I've had GP for a while now and my nails and hair have suffered!

Good day,

I have the same nail problem, can you tell me what the nutritionist says about your nails? I do not have any healthcare insurance or money, and it would help to know what is going on. Thank you for your time.

I was reading about evening primrose oil as a supplement for bad PMS and found that reviews included that this oil helps with nail, hair and skin.

hope this info help you.
