Exhausted

0 Recommendations

My gastroparesis is getting worse...I threw up my whole dinner for the first time this past weekend. And I have noticed lately I am extremely exhausted. I am usually an early bird and can handle long days, but lately I just don't feel like myself. I feel miserable and all I think about is sleep. I am a full time student with a part time job, so I have to wake up early and there is no time to take a day off to sleep. I have even tried diurex (bloating medicine with caffeine) and coffee (which it tells you not to do both because its too much caffeine) and I am still so tired on that. Are there any foods or supplements that you have used to help with exhaustion? Can the exhaustion come for gastroparesis?

I was totally exhausted, could barely make it through the day. Could not do housework. Had to stop and rest too much. Finally hired a housekeeper to come in once a month :). I really like that. But to get back to the point, I started on Viactiv multi-vitamin, chewable. Comes in milk chocolate flavor. CVS carries it as well as Walmart and probably other pharmacies. Also, since I am osteopenic, I take the calcium chews, CVS brand. I have regained my energy and am very pleased about that. However, I still have my housekeeper one day a month :). I work so I feel like I deserve that. Hope this helps you get to feeling better, made a real difference. I also got the Acai herbal which seems to give me a boost too.

Thanks so much! I will defiantly give it a try!

Caffeine can irritate your stomach, so it might not be a good strategy for you. Exhaustion seems to be part of the package. It helps, once you get your nutrition balanced, even if you have to blend everything to do that. It also helps to mix protein and carbs together in small servings throughout the day to keep blood sugar levels consistent.
Still, any physical activity or a long work week can do me in.

I am so sorry you are suffering. My only recommendation would be what my doctor tells me when I throw up. Don't eat anything but clear liquids for 24hrs. However he says to drink , drink, drink. Like gatorade, juice, soda, broth to replenish fluids lost from throwing up. Just fighting these diseases can be exhausting. Pain takes all the energy out of me. Also fear can tire me out too. After throwing up it is natural to be tired. Try to get rest until things settle down for you. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that some of these ideas help. Of course, please check with your doctor.

Thank you both so much! Now that you mention it I am sure stress and pain are having bigger part then I think. I am going to try to take some naps to help me relax a bit. Thanks again, it is so nice to have this support system!
