Asphirating

Hey has ayone ever asphirated on bile or their own vomit? I think I just did--I think the bile went into my lungs because it hurts something awful when I breathe in and it sounds like there are "bubbles" in my lungs when I breathe. If anyone has ever experienced this--please tell me what I should do. I am not necessarily having trouble breathing, it just hurts really bad. I feel like I can throw up but I haven't so far. I emptied my j-tube as much as I could so that relieved things a little. I am trying to look up on the internet what I should do. Any suggestions??

Hi Michelle.
This was happening to me on almost a nightly basis, I would wake up feeling like my chest was on fire and then the next day I would have a severe case of Bronchitis which very often turned into Pheumonia. I was diagnosed with COPD and the doc didn't want to hear when I explained that this only happened after I had vomited in my sleep. It was only after I moved to Alabama in 2003 that someone finally listened to me and told me that I had GP. Try not to lie down after eating or drinking, I slept on a recliner for years but now I have a Flexamatic bed so that I can sleep propped up and this has solved the problem.
