A question about raising awareness of motility problems!

I know someone just posted yesterday about raising awareness about GP. I think that ANY effort to raise awareness about these to little understood disorders is great! But I was thinking if there is anyway (but I do not know how we would go about this) if we could get a public service announcement commercial about GP/CIPO. I was thinking b.c pretty much everyone knows now about cancer and heart disease, but these disorders (GP and CIPO) literally can take away your quality of life and possibly sometimes kill. Of course, when I brought the idea up to my husband, he thought it was dumb. But if it makes just one more person or dr aware of what we go thru, and how bad some of us have it (feeding tubes, going to the hospital a lot for dehydration, and then STILL not taken seriously, it might be worth it. Thoughts?

Well, I'm working on an article that I will submit to Minnesota Public Radio website, where I've been published before. Could be a start. If they don't accept it, I'll try the Minneapolis newspaper, where I've also been published.

Believe me, if (or perhaps I should be optimistic and say "when") it's published, you all will be the first to know!

The Association of Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders, Inc. (AGMD) is creating several different awareness campaigns including CIPO and gastroparesis to name a few. I will be keeping everyone posted. We are also making many changes and enhances to our website which will also include ways in which people can get more involved. Together, we can make a huge difference. You are welcome to share your ideas with us.

Always,

Many celebrities are active in IBS awareness. You can google them. GP and other disorders have not yet his this level.
