lamorna's update from 'over the water'

Just to let you all know that MartyJo, Burnleyanne and Lamorna had their family trip to EuroDisney - taking advice from all of you!

Martine was 4 weeks post taxatere + herceptin (6 months worth) and 6 weeks post whole brain radiation therapy and yet she still found the strength, courage and determination to get on the flight and hit the second home of Mickey Mouse! We had a lovely time - lots of photos and memory creating. We had one HUGE family argument (there were 12 of us) that was actually long overdue and very therapeutic - and one 'nearly lost wig on rollercoaster incident'!

Had a laugh and a cry and a bloomin good time. Thanks to all who urged us to just go for it. She overcame her tiredness and did us all proud.

She is now off her steroids - and doing amazingly well.

Will keep you all posted on her (and our!) progress.

Following all your updates closely,

The Northern England posse

Well done! My clan is headed down to Disney U.S. in Orlando in less than two weeks and I'm hoping for a similar experience:)

Glad you all got to EuroDisney. I went for my 40th birthday and am hoping someone may take me for my 50th next year.

'Glad' to hear you had the family argument as it sounds as though it cleared the air a bit which is always a good thing, and then you could get on with the fun. Did you meet the Mouse himself? I only saw him, and his lady, on a float in the parade.

Hope you have all recovered from this and that Martine is still doing well.

Love from the South Coast one. Vicki xx

beach babe - am hoping you are spared the family 'ding-dong' whilst you are on your jollies...! wishing you the same happiness we created!

and vicki - you amaze me how you manage to spare a moment to support pretty much every post that appears on here! always good hearing from you. met the mouse himself - and his missus. have to say Woody and Buzz (and my sister mart...) stole the day!

Sister friend, I'll be travelling with two teens...and the way my son breathes can at times irk my daughter...so there will most assuredly be some family angst. But I already have that planned into the schedule! My hubby and I have already discussed that as long as WE can stay on the same page, we will ignore the teens' pettiness and all have a great time. Sooo glad to hear your trip got a gold star!

Glad you all had a great time. Our family just returned from Italy (6 of us) and had a great time - only one melt down - that was me but all and all it was wonderful. Beachbabe, enjoy every minute with the family. The memories are sooooo precious.

I am so glad you all went on your vacation and had such a wonderful time! I am also glad to hear your sister is doing well....please keep us updated :> lisa

Thanks Lisa,

Will do. My sister is currently symptom free and laden with energy (well maybe a slight exaggeration). Not that we want to brag - but now we are planning a trip to Salzburg, Austria in Mid-December! My mum (BurnleyAnne) is a Sound of Music enthusiast so her three girls are taking her and dad for a Christmas Market/ 'do-re-mi' break. Seize the moment - our new motto for life. Best wishes to you...
