I may have posted info about this before, but I wanted to let you know again. I just had a wonderful free visit from a local cleaning service. They were recruited by www.cleaningforareason.org.
This organization will arrange for 4 visits by a local participating maid servce. The ones who come are regular workers but volunteer for this special service. They may receive some sort of recogntion, free annual banquet, gift cert, etc., by participating. Or maybe they do it solely from the goodness of their hearts. People still do that, ya know!
All I know is i have clean tub for the first time in months, my kitchen and dining areas are scrubbed and mopped, and I didn't have to aggravate my back mets by running the vacuum cleaner!!!
Wanted to pass the word along. I will try get them to space out the visits to longer than once a month, since I will need this again over a longer period of time. I am grateful to get it for whatever time frame they are willing to provide it.
You submit a dr's statement and a liabilty waiver.

This is wonderful. I am sending my app in now. I need help with the heavy stuff. I can do the day to day, but as far as the tub, walls, etc I am just too damn tired after working all week and treatments..

Thanks for the reminder! I just gave this info to someone I know who has a cleaning service and she is going to look into starting this in our community.

I had the help of an angel with a bucket last year. She was kind, did a wonderful job, and it was such a huge relief to have a clean apartment for a change. I highly recommend using this "perk". It's a good way to play the cancer card guilt free!
