Issues with Diabetes

Hello, I found out I had diabetes a couple of years back. Right after I found out my father had terminal cancer and it was just too hard to follow a diet plan.

My husband and I want to have a baby next year, and the ONLY thing holding me back is my uncontrolled blood sugars.

I'm on Levimir, already at 66 units per day. It is so frustrating, and depressing. I need help trying to figure this all out. When I lived in FL, I was sent to diabetes dr, but moved to be near my dad while he was alive. Since I moved, my new pcp is trying to help me...do you think I should ask to see a specialst?

Looking forward to reading how everyone is handling their diabetes and looking forward to picking up some tips.

I am also on Levimir but only 20 units per day. I am not one to give good advice since I am not good on my diet either. The other health issues it is hard to think ahead enough to make sure I have the right food in the house or the energy to prepare the food.

I would say that if you are truly watching your diet and taking your insulin than it maybe time to see a specialists. Unless of course your pcp has taken extra training in diabetes.

I wish you all the luck in the world at getting this matter under control and having a baby.
