When the time came that our Earl Ray Huffingham could no longer make the difficult trip to the hospital for transfusions we all knew that his time left with us was limitted and when the last of the blood had run through his deterriating body he lifted his hand in worship and is now "absent from that physical body, but PRESENT with our Lord".
We met at 6 and 7 in an old fashioned Sunday School, fell in love and began our romance in our mid-teens, married in 1942 "a boy in Kakie and a girl in lace" and after 7 blissful weeks he went to the Asian Pacific for the next 3 and 1/2 Consecutive years.
When he came home in December of 1945 we began our family - 2 daughters-2 sons, 11 grandchildren (5 Step Grandchildren) 14 GREAT Granddchilden and another due in December!!
What a blessed 67 years of marriage and now he has left his physical body, leaving this "half of that wonderful union".
I will miss my really good husband forever but thank God that although he is "absent from the physical body, he is PRESENT with the Lord" with no regrets He often said that we should have "I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN" engraved on his grave marker. That even includes the war years for he loved his country, his family, his friends and anyone who had a need and ME.
