I've been thinking a lot about relationships. Currently I do not have a b/f but that could change. I can't really chase men. I just hang out with my friends at sports and talk to my camp buds on-line. I pray for love. Hopefully it will come my way.
I will never give up on finding someone special, one who becomes more than a friend. I love the world. When will I find someone to love this girl?
I've also done some online dating on the disabled dating sites. I know I will meet someone when the time is right.
I just have to continue to do my best in life.

ty for the encouragement!

Goldy,

You are on the right track! Always strive to be the best you can be and when you find your Love, you will be ready to share your best self with him. You will find someone very special who may or may not also be disabled. You are not just a "disabled" woman, but a wonderful, able person on the inside, and so very beautiful on the outside, too!
My boyfriend, Will, is the most caring and loving man I have ever known. He helps me so carefully and makes sure I am as comfortable as I can possibly be. He always takes my hand or arm when I walk with him to keep me steady and safe.
I want him to be happy so spent some time in the beginning trying to push him away--- telling him he deserved someone able to do those active things he likes to do (mountain and rock climbing!!!) but he said he wanted to be with me and has never complained about any of my special needs.
He tells me about climbing the Matterhorn when he was younger and other exciting stories in such wonderful detail and with such enthusiasm that it feels as if I have done it, too! I encourage him to do his active things with able bodied friends, and one day soon, know he will return to me with new stories and I will be lucky to hear them!
I know how fortunate I am to have him, and I believe one day, you will also be so lucky! I have Will after being left behind by my husband of twenty years, who went on with life as if I never existed after I became disabled fifteen years ago. He didn't even talk to me about the many vacations he planned, and took our young daughter along without telling me beforehand that they would be going.
I feel like I am making up for that difficult time when I mistakenly accepted being ignored and treated as if I had done something wrong. My injury was caused by a doctor who made many terrible errors during a very delicate spinal surgery. I was left in severe, disabling pain, which I still suffer with, but I've since relearned to walk, though quite unsteadily and I still fall much too frequently.
I believe if I can find a sweetheart, you can, too, though I think it's best that you continue to look on sites such as Disabled Dating and even others. I found my special guy on Singlesnet, but know he is one in a million!!! I just wrote the basics on my profile about who I am on the inside, what I like to do and a bit about my injury, then left it to fate. Be careful, but be out there, actively looking for a friend first, and I believe you will find that one, very special Love you are seeking. You must believe it, too......
Remember, it takes a soft hearted, gentle and deeply caring man to treat someone as sweet and loving as yourself the way you deserve to be treated. You are looking for a diamond... not a diamond in the rough!!! He will be a great partner and father when you start that family I know you wish for!
VISUALIZE the life you want, LIVE as if it will soon happen, and KNOW you deserve it!!!

I wish the best for you!

Diana

Thanks for the encouragement dee. From now on, I will just enjoy life and being with friends. It will happen if it's meant to.

They always say, when you are not looking, you'll find someone!

Hang in there!

With blessings;
Dee
