Heart Transplant

"It will have to be replaced."
That is the phrase that the cardiologist used yesterday.
My husband and I had seen a marked decline in his energy over the past few months so we knew there was trouble brewing in his chest.
The sarc in his heart was bad enough to stop it suddenly in July and the prednisone didn't help much...just puffed him up, gave him a rash on his face and made him moody.
In a few weeks he will be taking some special tests that the University of Washington calls "Heart Transplant Protocol".
I suppose these tests will determine when/if he is put on the transplant list.

All of this doesn't seem real. This stuff happens to "other people".

Oh Crochet; I'm sorry that your husband is going through these things. I know it's comforting to realize that we understand what you are going through. I'm going to say a prayer for you and your husband tonight. I'll say one right now: Heavenly Father; continue to show favor and mercy on Crochet and her husband as he goes through this journey. I know that you won't put anymore on them then he and his wife can bare. Keep them strong heavenly Father and focused on you. You are a healer and I say it right now in the name of Jesus that Crochet's husband will be healed, by your stripes we ARE healed. In Jesus name AMEN. God bless you crochet and your husband. Keep up the fight!

Tears and prayers for you, your husband and your whole family, Crochet. I know you will be leaning on the "everlasting arms" these next few weeks until the testing begins. We lift you up.

I will be praying for you. Stay strong!

thinking of you and sending positive energy and prayers of healing your way. stay strong.

I'm sending hugs and prayers through this next part of your journey.

Hang in there. One step at a time. I know of two people online at another forum that have just had transplants.

One had some complications but now both are doing very well and posting like mad again.

The good thing about the tx protocol is that they will review your husbands condition through and through to be sure that this is THE best treatment. That's a good thing.

I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. Sarcoid is an awful thing to bear. I am awaiting tests on my heart to see if I have it in there. 11 years ago, when first diagnosed with sarcoid, they also diagnosed syndrome x in my heart. now 11 years on!!! they think they misdiagnosed this so I have to have lots of tests to see what the problem actually is. Good luck and best wishes to you both - all the way from the UK. x

My prayers are with you and your husband
keep the faith and be strong. Keep us posted
May god bless you and your husband!
