Well last weeks news was not the best but today's was a heart break. Last week I was informed that my 2 month chemo treatment did not work and that the metastatic melanoma had not only got larger in my liver but it had spread to my brain in two spots as well as my spleen and lungs.
Well ok i could deal with that, they would preform a procedure called SRS surgery using a hi beam of radiation to destroy the cancerous cells with a 96% rate of success that was ok. Then the next treatment would be to deal with the liver because the Doctors said that is what would do me in. So I would start a intense in patient chemo treatment, 5 days in hospital 23 days home recovering and repeat it over and over again for 6 months. Well ok I could do that too.
Today I am told that a more intense MRI that I took on Friday last should that I did not have 2 tumors in the brain but more than 15 and that now I have to have "whole brain radiation treatment". 20 mins. a day for up to 15 days, I feel like I am on a run away train and I can't get off...

Please ask your providers if you can be considered for PLX 4032 phase 2 trials soon to be opening here in US ...I was recently diagnosed with Melanoma stage 4 and hope I can also get into the trial. I do not have it in my brain as far as we know...I will put a link here. I know that 5 hospitals will be taking part in the trials.
