Well i'm 5 weeks post acl repair. They gave me a new acl(used)lol and did 2 miniscus repairs and cleaned up some arthritis.I have 2 small holes on both sides of my knee and a 1 inch incision just below my knee and all is healing well. I have had very little pain. just some when doing exercises or when i do to much.Next week I go back to the Dr and hopefully I will get rid of the full leg brace.
I have gained about 5 lbs which is bad and I miss riding my motorcycle and hope I dont miss the whole summer

Surgery Pain

Wow!! You are like my twin!! I'm now 4 weeks post-op, I also have a "used" tendon, and I also really miss riding my motorcycle :). Oh and I'm ... lets say... over 40! I have had some pain ... the first 3 days after the nerve block wore off were BRUTAL ... but now it only hurts when I do too much OR I twist wrong. My Physical Therapists have discovered a problem with my kneecap not tracking properly that is preventing me from really getting started but I'm hoping that can resolve itself on its own without more surgery. Good luck with your recovery and feel free to vent to me if you need it!

I got to stop wearing my full leg brace Friday and by that night I was getting sore by Sat I could hardly walk and my whole leg seems to be swollen, so I will call the Dr today hopefully it was because I was doing to much and not a graph failure . The weather has been very rainy and that may be part of the pain as my other leg is very sore also. The Dr said it is most vulnarable between 4 -12 weeks so just as you are feeling good .I asked the Dr if I could ride and he laughed and said no riding for awhile and I go back in 5 weeks at least the weather isnt exactly riding weather.

Now you're scaring me ... did he tell you WHEN you could ride again? It's been rainy here also so I haven't missed it that much, but once that weather gets nice I'll really be jonesing! I (hopefully) get released from the brace on Thursday, but I don't know what's going to come from this "kneecap tracking" business.

Question for you ... do you sometimes get achy pains where they put the anchor screws in? Three or four times a day, with no warning, I get what I call "bone pain" and if I touch the sides of my knee where the screws are its extremely sensitive. It only lasts for a few minutes but its rough while it happens. Guess its just one more thing I have to talk to the doctor about :).

By the way, what do you ride? I'm on a 2006 Victory Vegas 8Ball.

I put on a brace that I bought at Walmart before my surgery it has metal hinges and it seems to have helped I worked a 10 hr shift yesterday and had minimal pain .I do get random pains and aches throughout the day and also during the night so I don't sleep well right now ,but its not enough to take the pain medicine. The small incision just below my knee seems to be the most sensitive but is getting better.
I ride a 2003 suzuki intruder volusha 800 it is the 40th anniversary edition and is pearl white my husband put floor boards on it for me because of surgery on my ft makes the ft pegs painful

Well, I got released from the brace today and spent the day at work worrying about when my knee would buckle. It didn't, of course, but it feels so rubbery and weak! Got in a good workout when I got home ... I was surprised about that because I really thought I was going to be too sore. Dr OK'd me to ride my motorcycle when I feel comfortable holding the bike up (he actually said that if the bike starts to go over, LET IT GO! ... he doesn't have a clue about how much I love my bike!), but my better half has other ideas about that. I have to PROVE my ability before I can get the keys back!
