Support your group and raise awareness with badges

19 Recommendations

Hi everyone. We added a new feature today that you can use to support your groups and the organizations that sponsor them, and get the word out about the causes that are important to you. If you visit any group home page, you'll find a link in the right column for badges. We created a special set of badges for every one of our groups which you can use to tell others about the support and inspiration you find here, and the fantastic organization that sponsors your group. You can add badges to your e-mail signature, your personal website or blog, or any other website where you have a profile. You can even get a personalized badge with your screen name to show your spirit. They're a great way to let the world know about what matters to you and the organizations you support. We hope you enjoy them.

Thank you. I have already set it up on my Yahoo account.

Fantastic. Thank you!

I spotted them earlier today and checked out the womenheart badges. Thanks for helping us to get the word out about this wonderful website.

How do you get one started for a group with no organization behind it? This would be a fantastic way to help get attention for Cauda Equina Syndrome. We have people all over the world with this, but there is no organization other than our online support group. You can find out more about CES by going to www.caudaequina.org. We are trying to draw attention to CES as all studies are over 20 years old, many medical professionals don't know what CES is and therefore many of us suffer needlessly, because of the lack of knowledge. By the way cauda equina is Latin for horse's tail that is why I go by horsestail plus I love horses. gklstokely@bellsouth.net Gloria

Hello, Windblown. We definitely have more things on the way. We update the site just about every day with improvements and new features.

I feel silly but I can't figure out how to use the badge, can you explain it to me. Thanks,
Lily

Hi Lily. No worries - it can be confusing. In a nutshell, you can display badges in your e-mail signature and on your personal website or any site where you have a profile. How you do it depends on where you are where you want to use a badge. We've compiled some instructions here:

How to use badges

Let us know if the instructions don't cover what you would like to do, or if you need any help.

Walter

Hi Walter... I have a question. I tried to include the badge in my email and I can't get it to work. I have OE, and I followed the instructions for adding a signature to may email, but the only thing that shows up on it is the html (text), is that what you're suppose to see. I thought I would be able to see the actual .gif. I also tried to add it by using the file option (in signatures) and then linking the email to the .gif, but that doesn't work either. When you try to do it that way I get an error message saying that the file isn't a normal text file for sigs.

Do you have any ideas?? Oh I also have my email set to accept html not plain text.

Thanks

Hi windblown. You should see the image itself, not the code as text. I'll write you and we'll see if we can figure it out.

Walter
