My name is Rob and I’m 37 years old. I was initially diagnosed with ADHD and depression because of severe fatigue, memory issues, and trouble concentrating [misdiagnosis?] after returning from Iraq a year ago. My memory issues became progressively worse and my primary doctor detected elevated liver enzymes which remained elevated over many months for no apparent reason. I asked my primary to see specialists for these problems. In March 2009 my neurologist told me I was having Petit Mal seizures verified by EEG. I cannot drive for 90 days and had bad reactions to the first two seizure meds. I am now on Dilantin and have seen no improvements. Then on April 17th my liver specialist noted low ceruloplasmin levels and I started a screening for Wilson's, blood and 24hr urine [still awaiting results]. The liver specialist seems to think all these problems may be related to Wilson’s, but my neurologist thinks it is coincidence. Meanwhile my quality of life is eroding away as half the time I feel like my brain is scrambled. My wife is understanding but finds my irritability, moodiness, constant fatigue, forgetfulness, and confusion harder and harder to deal with. This is all new territory for us as I’ve always been healthy.
