Diagnosed on January 2, 2008 with Stage IV NSCLC.


Started chemo on February 5, 2008, once every three weeks: Taxol/Carboplatin/Avastin. Had reaction to Taxol on 2/26/08. On 3/18, started new chemo regimen: Taxatere/Carboplatin/Avastin.

Had 1st PET on June 9. Scan showed all tumors are still there, but there was a little shrinkage. Am now on Avastin only and will get my next PET after 3 treatments.

PET scan was not good. Tumors grew. Started Alimta on August 22. Had CT scan on October 14. Alimta didn't work - tumors grew and have one new one. Had a biopsy to see if I have EGFR and KRAS mutations to possibly help with future treatments. I do not have either.
Started clinicial trial on November 3 at Johns Hopkins. Have to travel to Baltimore every day for 10 days, get an 18 day break and then back for 10 more. Around the week of Christmas I'll get a scan to see if the trial is working.
