What were you diagnosed with?

Hello Stacy,
I understand how you feel. I was diagnosed last September with cervical cancer. The shock of it all is too much to handle. Peace be with you as you move through this process. Please use this site as a resource and share your thoughts and feelings. The American Cancer Society is also a wonderful place for support.
All the best,
Jamie

Thanks guys, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

StacyT: You and I are the same age, so young! Has the cancer spread? Do you have the details & knowledgable doctors? What are they saying your next step should be? Have you obtained copies of all your reports?

I truly am sorry that you, or anyone has to battle such things. May God bring you the peace only he can provide.

My friends mom is in her 60's and was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer which spread. She was treated with chemo & has been free of cancer for 2 years now. She is very overweight with diabetes and the cancer had matastisized (spelling); I have faith that you will be okay! :o)

Oh! I do know that vitamin D3 is VERY important! Studies have proved that those who take vitamin D3 and have cancer have tumors more susceptable to the chemo and radiation treatments. I don't know if that made any sense. Also, oxygenating your body through eating fresh cruciferous fruits because cancer HATES oxygen (I just found this out through the ladies here). You can also oxygenate your body through deep & even proper breathing techniques. I would recommend going to a very knowledgable health food store; they will give you so much knowledge. You can then take that knowledge to your docs and ask them what they think because there are some of these natural things that can interfer with your treatments. So ALWAYS consult your doctors before taking anything, even if it's "natural".

Best best wishes to you!

Thank you, isn'that interesting. I was just looking at a couple of books I had on herbal supplements. I didn't know about the D3.

hi, stacyt. i'm sorry to hear you just received a cervical cancer diagnosis. the first thing you need to do - if you haven't already - is see a gynecologic oncologist. best wishes on your treatment/surgery....let us know how you're doing!

StacyT: Here is a good link discussing D3

Just ALWAYS remember to let your doctor know EVERY vitamin & their doses, that you are taking as some of them can interfer with radiation and chemo and I am not sure which ones they are.

As flowershoplady said, the gyn/onc is VERY important as they are better equipped to deal with these types of situations.

Please keep us informed, I know I would surely be grateful :o)

Best wishes to you!

I am so sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. I was diagnosed back in January 2008, and have been fighting it ever since. It has not been as horrible as I feared, so don't be afraid. You will do fine, I just know it! If there is anything I can do, or any questions I can answer, please let me know.
Blessings,
Angie
