Hi – I saw this article yesterday (on my 34th Birthday) and it reminded me how very lucky and fortunate we all have been to survive a cardiac arrest. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about how lucky I was to survive my SCA considering the odds. It has been 4 months and I am so happy to be alive and thrilled to be here to celebrate my Birthday. I thought I would share it to remind us all of our blessings. Take care, Shannon

Hi Shannon,
I saw that article too! I agree, it is a good reminder of how lucky we are. I find that being on this site sometimes skews my thinking and makes it seem like SCA is a common event that is survived by many. It is good to put that into perspective sometimes.
Thanks!
Mary :-)

The article, published in New England Journal of
Medicine says:Few survive S.C.A.,even with C.P.R..
Is this something new? No,says the author.
So what are we supposed to do,to improve the outcome?,to do more than what we have been doing?
Suggestion please.
