MAKE WILSON DISEASE AS DIABETES TYPE 2

0 Recommendations

IF DIAGNOSED EARLIER AND TREATED WITH ZINC THERAPY CAN THIS DISEASE BE

EASILY TREATABLE AND BROUGHT WITHIN CONTROL LIKE DIABETES 2AND NOT TO BE FEARED AS

FATAL OR PERMANENTLY DISABLING FOR LIFE?

I was showing all classical neurological symptoms of Wilson's Disease, K F Ring could be observed with naked eyes. I was unable to make any voluntary muscular movement. I was treated with Zinc Sulphate [ Zincolac capsules] I was never needed to be hospitalized for even a single day. There was no side effects other than continuous improvement. of course strict diet control and physiotherapy for making almost all muscular movements to become like reflex action was devised by my parents.

If efforts are made for awareness drive so that earlier detection is possible for starting chelating and maintainance therapy with Zink, may help avoid lots of pain and lifelong problems of W D patients and their parents or guardians.

Expert verification and comments are invited.

Dear Narendra
You are absolutely right. Awareness and education are the key to early diagnosis and successful treatment. That is what we at the WDA are striving to do. I assume you live in India given the Zincolac you mention. Where exactly do you live? We just facilitated laboratory testing of the Zinc you mention, and it was found to be of good quality.

Dear Narendra,
I am living with WD since the last 25-28 yrs. and now I am better than a normal person despite the pain this disease g ives. I was admitted thrice in AIIMS, New Delhi and never the Docs say that I will live a short life, though they told me clearly that the metabolism of my body is abnormal and I will have to take treatment for life time. I am on D-Penicillamin and Zincolac. Whjy do you think of death and who told you this? Where are you getting your treatment from. All the medicines for WD Zinc Accetate, D-Penicillamin, Zincolac, etc., are now available in India. Liver transplant facility is also here. I think you should consult some other good neurologist or hospital also and stop thinking about death, rather think about a good future.
May God bless you!
