Now I understand what you are saying here. In the last six or so years, I have been prone to many boils, skin infections, pimples, whatever. I also have talked to my Gp and GYN. Both say well some people, espcially big women are most likely to go through this. NOT. I went to the ER with a huge huge boil like thing as big as a softball. They did nothing but say it may be mercer and will always be there and all you can do is get through one at a time and keep it clean. You would have thought they at least would have lanced it. Oh no.....the next day my husband lanced it for me, bless him. It is now trying to heal. My other dr. I see for pain told me to go to a wound center to have it looked at and make sure it is doing better and they will take a sample. I am considering doing that, I don't know what else to do. I get very angry at these doctors who are passing the buck. This last one was on my lady part so it was really painful and of course embarassing to show. Maybe it looked so ugly they could not deal with it???? In my heart I believe it is sarc. I was dx with it over 12 years ago. Until I got into this sarc group, I did not realize it attacked the skin. Anyway, that is what I think it is. I will check in after I go to the wound center and find so me information out and giving us something to at least help fighti it, Marian

Have you checked your blood glucose levels. If you've been on steroids for a long while you may have become diabetic. High blood glucose levels could well make you prone to infections.

I have 2 suggestions.first you can clean your tub with bleach before you bathe as you may be susceptible to a perfectly normal germ from some one elses body.10% bleach to 90% water is sufficient. Can put baking soda 1 or 2 tablespoons in bath water is soothing. After bathing go in the bedroom and lay naked in the light for about ten minutes. This includes spreading parts that usually don't catch the light.Lots of bacteria can't tolerate light.May have to lock door or wait til no one is home.Hopefully this can help along with doctor and antibiotics.Prayers AndiB

have your doctors considered treating your partner at the same time they treat you? maybe you are passing something back and forth.

also a second to the idea of checking your blood sugar mentioned by pwd.

If you have an infection that keeps coming back, get tested for VRE and MRSA. The VRE is a rectal swab and is very simple, the MRSA is a nasal swab and is easy to do likewise. It could be either one of these.

DO you take acidolpolus for the yeast infections - it is in most yogurts and can be bought in pill form. It will help with the yeast infections. I was getting lots of yeast infections because of all the antibiotics I was taking for sinus infections. Doctor gave me medication for the yeast infection and then I took the acidopolus and started eating lots of yogurt.
Everyone has given you good ideas for testing. I had a nasal swab and was found to have a bacteria in my nose, seeratia bacteria. There are so many crazy things out there - just have to find the right doctor.

Good luck.
Ann
