Pain, chemo, vomit and parking tickets

0 Recommendations

I am going to have a vent ...

After spending the last 2 weeks dragging myself around trying to get to work, throwing up, looking like a beached whale, feeling a lot of pain and very constipated I found out today the chemo pills I am on have done nothing. In fact my count is through the roof. Great!

My calcium is up which could mean that the cancer has got into the bone. Great!

I get to work and I am buried in paper for end of financial year and the boss is calling me from OS about all the stuff I have not done. Really Great!

Then I finally finish work I have gotten a parking ticket...

What a great day!!!

I am a little over it.

Ok, vent over.

PS: Sue and Terrafly if you read this - came off the parp trial in May as it had stopped working. How are you guys going?

Wow....that's a day! So sorry....it seems when it rains it pours. Hope things will get better and pray the new medicine works for you. :)Kim

So Sorry you had such a tough day! Venting is good! I am all for it! Makes me know that I am not the only one walking around - feeling ready to Yuke my brains out all the time!

(That didn't sound as nice as I intended it to but I hope you know what I meant! Good to know that I am not alone but so very sorry you have to go through this too!~

Hope tomorrow is better for you!'

Cheers~

Rose

Thanks guys, I do feel better today.

Hi Mish,

I'm glad you are feeling a little better. Venting is good and we are here to listen! Hope things continue to improve. I sure understand the days when you feel like blowing your top.

I just thought that everything that could possibly go wrong had already happened then I get a phone call from my sister-in-law telling me that she has just been diagnosed with breast cancer! I'm beginning to wonder if there is any good news left in this world??
Please put in a prayer for Dottie, she will have surgery on July 20th. Thanks so much!!

Somehow, we are all going to get through these things and come out the other side. But I just get frustrated with all the detours in the meantime. But it is so good to have all the sisters on this site who really understand what it is all like.

Mish, my prayers are going up for you, so hang tough!! Eileen

Mish,

Before you start on another therapy, ask your oncologist to give you information on as many alternatives as possible.

My sister found herself unable to qualify for trials because she'd been on so many different chemos in a few months that the trial managers automatically turned her down because they couldn't prove "their" chemo was the one that worked. It was understandable, but very frustrating.

So, ask your doctor to provide as much info as possible.

I'm so sorry you're going through this.

It reminds me of the day when I learned my job was in jeopardy of being cut, the new position my principal had dangled in front of me for three years had been reallotted to another department (not even a sorry), then came home to receive a letter informing me I'd been called for jury duty!

At least I was through with chemo and actually had hair sprouting!

Wow! What a day you had. It seems that we all seem to have those days every now and then. Hope there all behind you now. I pray that everything works out for you. Vent anytime you need too.

Esther
