Got My Bracelet

0 Recommendations

Well, I got the medic alert bracelet yesterday. So, it is on my arm and will not come off. And it will give me some comfort that no matter where I am, if I collapse the paramedics will know all my health problems. Kind of a stupid question...do you wear it 24/7? I assume it can handle the shower and swimming pool.

I don't wear mine in the shower, and I also don't tend to wear it when I'm just in the house, or asleep--at night, it's on the nightstand.

I have a waterproof one:

that I wear in the pool to swim.

Hello I wear my medic alert bracelet 24/7, which is made out of Sterling silver, hasn't tarnished in 9 yrs. I would wear in the swimming pool and the shower.

I just received my Medic Alert Chain & Pendant the other day. I do wear it 24/7. I tried the bracelet but after about a year of wearing it in the chlorine pool the bracelet started causing me a rash so I went back to the Pendant.

Be sure to update your profile for Medic Alert every so often.

Hi! I also wear my bracelet 24/7. It has not left my right wrist for almost seven years. I've also had a cross necklace that my Mom gave me on for three years now, so I always have jewelry on. :<)

I wear my bracelet 24/7. For everyday & working around the Christmas tree farm, I wear a stainless steel one. For church & dressy occassions, I've got a gold one. Doesn't hurt to have 2 anyway, just in case something happens to one.

I also wear mine 24/7. It has not been off my wrist since the jeweller put it on. Since I am allergic to all other metals, I had to go straight to the gold with a strong enough chain link to handle every day living.

Where do you get the medic alert bracelet? How do you fill out a profile? AlaskaGirl

AlaskaGirl, Your Dr.'s offfice may have an mail in card on Medic Alert. On how to fill out a profile there is a blue bar that has, Profile, Group, Journal and etc. click on Profile.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out and get hooked up. Alaskagirl

Hi,
I would like one also. Was yours very expensive and where do you get one?Should I get in gold?
Thanks,Kimberly46

HI, i was advised to get one right after my cardiac arrest 3rd degree AV block back in August. I also got the sterling silver one. There are bracelet styles to choose from and it has been on me 24/7...I listed pacemaker/meningioma/NO MRI/ and allergies. I felt strongly that I wanted no mri out there as having a PM and getting an MRI is a big no no....All that metal....Cathy

Hi,
My cardiologist said I might think of getting one as well but where do you order them from?? Approximately what did they cost?
Thanks.

Hi Mum2 2 dogs. The MRI has a very Strong Magnet, that would interfere with the pacemaker's performance. Do not pick up speakers nor sit by mega speakers since they do contain a magnet. Boy, I did, sat very close to a mega speaker and I got shocked, a few minutes later.

You can get them from several places; I've gotten my two from Lauren's Hope, and FiddledeeIDs.

If you do a Google search for "medical ID bracelet," you'll find tons of options. As I like to say, just because it's functional, doesn't mean it has to be fugly. ;)

It doesn't even have to be a bracelet--you can have a necklace or anklet if you prefer.

My stainless steel one cost around $60. Sterling silver and gold ones will be more.

You can go to MedicAlert.com They are the original and they have some nice ones to choose from too.
