Knock on wood...I feel near normal

0 Recommendations

I've been on 5mg pred for a week now. Next week I'll be prednisone-free for the first time in more than 6 months. Weaning down hasn't been easy, but I have felt the most normal this past week (on 5mg/day) than I have since October '08. The swelling in my legs and feet is pretty much gone -- guess it was the pred. I've been having normal days where I just forget all about the sarc. Of course, I have some achiness due to weaning off the pred, but nothing I can't ignore. Sarc doc thinks I may be coming out of the flare-up.
Dare I say it? I feel okay. I feel hopeful.
Next week will be the real test. July 8th I go pred-free. Wish me luck.

Good for you!!! It's days like you are having and experiences you are having that gives me hope. Don't give too much thought to next week..may bring on stress...just take today and every other day as you are today....with thankfullness...and may you have plenty more of these days!!!! Keep me posted!! You GO GIRL....LOL

Thats great...hope you stay symptom free!!

Good Luck!! There is nothing like the feeling of getting off of pred. If it gets hard, don't be afraid to do 2.5mg if needed. (I had to).
Best Wishes,
X

Good luck and I hope you got the remission we all want God look after you.

Thanks to all for your well wishes. I am hoping for a good week next week, but am prepared to take 2.5 mg if the withdrawal is too much to bear.
I pray for "old" normal days -- for myself and sarkies everywhere.

I am so happy for you Kimlou!!! you lucky girl, I too am on a taper, was taking 80,60,40,now at 25, will probably stay here for a while!!

I pray your final taper goes great.....

God Bless,

Mani from Canada

Good luck!! I hope and pray for you that you will make it into a full remission. We need to hear about more people getting into some sort of remission. I had one during my recent pregnancy and it was WONDERFUL. I'm now flaring up again, but I'm ready to deal with it again after a nice break. Congrats and good luck!
Take Care,
Julz

Good luck with that withdrawl. I have not been able to get back to 2.5 sinse Feb 07 but there is hope. Keep us posted.

Kimlou,

Wonderful news for you, now I will tell you what I tell myself, stay away from my triggers and just cuz I feel better don't overdo. It took me a long time to figure out my triggers...sunshine, mold, some wet paint, major stress --make your own mental list and most of all be kind to YOU.
Good thoughts,

Jean
