American Cancer Society Relay For Life Event

0 Recommendations

Hello,

I would like to share with you information about an event I am involved with for the American Cancer Society called Relay For Life that takes place all over the world and will be in Dearborn MI (my home town) on May 3-4, 2008. Relay for Life, a 24-hour walk event, represents hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. Their theme is Celebrate, Remember, Fight Back!

There will be speeches and information available at the event on several aspects of cancer, including caregiving.

For more information on this very worthwhile event, please go to www.relayforlife.org, or to find an event in your location go to www.relayforlife.org/relay/findevent .

With care,

Hi, Jeribaron - I have been involved on Relay for Life planning teams, been a team captain, etc. for 4 years, and am now on a "break" from the committee membership, but will probably help out at an information booth in our town this year - with BCAN brochures and other help. What are you planning on doing? Anything I can do the help you from out here in Washington State?

Dear Swim4fit,

Thank you for your reply. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply as I did not receive a notice that I did, in fact, have a message.

Relay For Life is certainly a very worthwhile event - not only in raising funds, but mainly in raising awareness that there is help out there and many others who are dealing with cancer.

My twin brother Larry Baron is very involved with BCAN and it is his RFL team (Brave Hearts) that I am a member of. We will have BCAN brochures at RFL-Dearborn too. The RFL-Dearborn website is: events.cancer.org/RFLdearbornmi .

We plan on having a lot of cancer-related information, along with many give-away material for inspiration, at our booth, and will also sell items to raise funds for ACS. Thanks for your offer to help. Keep up your good work with RFL in Washington state!

With best wishes,
Jeri-Baron Feltner
