Since I was born with kidney disease, I learned very early the importance of believing that we are not alone in this big old world. I have a strong belief in God and have prayed to a higher power since I was a small child. This spirituality is something I found on my own, not something that was taught to me. I find it the only way to go on sometimes. Knowing that while I didn't have the best Father here on earth, there was a Father in Heaven, who loved and cared for me even with all of my broken body parts.
