WHEN INSPIRED BY SOMEONE, LET THEM KNOW

7 Recommendations

Every time I write a journal or discussion and someone commends my essay, I feel an incredible sense of pride that maybe I've helped or touched someone.

I've read many well written and informative articles, that I had to search out, as no one acknowledged or complimented the author with a click of the mouse by adding a check mark and thereby recommending the journal or discussion for the rest of us.

When I first became a member, I obtained more information from this community than all of my medical professionals combined. I was in shock after the surgery and my diagnosis.

I meandered through the site looking for something, anything that would help me to understand this disease. Back then, I knew nothing about check marks. I was like a vulture consuming every one's information and experiences. I soaked up all the material and never responded in any way to any one.

I write now because I want to help. I've lived through the nightmare of having sarcoidosis and not even knowing what it was. I'm generous with my approval ratings, because so many of these essays are in reality, well written diaries of the disease.

People who are ill, are sharing their lives with us, and along the way are offering good, sound advice, based on their having lived it. If that doesn't inspire us to make some attempt to signify our approval and our gratitude, what will?

Replies are nice to receive, but if the story touched or helped you, add your check mark along with your reply. This also brings the journal or discussion to the attention of others.

Simply put your mouse on the recommend at the top right side of every journal and discussion and click on the word recommend.

Endorsing our members' well written compositions are kudos for doling out Sarcoidosis information.
Kudos are cool ! Be well... JanetG

Thank you Janet, I didn't know about the flag for review. Every little bit helps in the site. Congratulations that you are feeling better and have navigated thru this disease with determination and good attitude.

Dear jgrover,

Thank you for your kind words. I'm sorry that I led you to think I was referring to the Flag for review logo. I'm not sure what it's used for, except to maybe alert FSR that an article needs to be reviewed for offensive material or something someone didn't want said.

I was referring to the Recommend line at the top of each post. If you move your mouse to the line and click on it, it recommends the article to others, indicating you liked it. I hope I explained this better for you. BE well... JanetG

Hi Janet! So true!! Feeling bad and still caring about others. This is what life's all about; expecially here! My thoughts are with you and your great attitude today! I love the picture of you and the dogs!! Thanks for reminding all of us to say thanks and let each other know we appreciate the time it takes to compute our thoughts into words! SarasotaSandy

Hi Janet,

Thanks for bringing that to our attention. Also, thanks for being the a wonderful advocate of this site and it's users. I guess I'm in vulture mode right now, having just joined this month. :)

Michele

Dear Michele,

You're not giving yourself enough credit my friend. There's no vulture in you as I see you responding all over this website.

Joining in on discussions, asking questions and adding comments to other peoples' journals is participating.

People like you are the main reason why this type of venue works. Be Well... JanetG

Janet, thank you for the information. I am not new to the site but I learn new things daily. I will be using the recommendation from now on because there is so much good information on this site that I am sure it will help others as it does me. Take care. Glenda
