“ Until I discovered the internet I felt so alone; nobody I knew had had encephalitis nor did they know anyone who had it. The first day at work when I was allowed access to the internet the first thing I looked up was 'encephalitis'. I almost fell off my chair when I found an email support group run by a person in California. I met Daniel through there. That person stopped running the group and I took it over manually through AOL for a long time and then we progressed to Yahoo. Now, thanks to Wendy we're here. I have never felt alone ever since then, way back in the late 1990s. ”
