Yesterday I finally obtained prescription of estradiol- just a year and four months after hysterectomy. I was rather edgy (after having been turned down by several gynecologists), but everything went very smoothly- doctor, this time a man) looked through the papers and said: “Since we do not know what is going to happen with you anyway, you may start replacement therapy”. He also offered to come to yearly checkups. Instead of just saying that I have nothing significant left, so I do not need medical attention.
Anyway, it was another instance, that having a male doctor is much easier (though the worst of “my” doctors was also a man) - but they behave more matter-of-factly and are less prejudiced. They also do not mind "educated” patient- after all such patients usually make doctor’s life easier, where as female doctors often become angry and regard well informed patient as hypochondriac.

Remember 50% of all doctors finish in the bottom half of their classes. SCARRY!!!

Yes, intellect and knowledge is not a guarantee of successful carrier-one of the greatest idiots of our country (its not my sole opinion) is academician.
But our doctors are anyway criticized for bad communication skills, lack of interest: they will do everything necessary as long as situation is common….But still men seem to be better maybe because they get bored quickly of just performing routine duties.....

maybe men are more intrigued with solving problems. that is not a sexist remark just trying to resolve this issue. Doctors are so stressed as students that all they can do is concentrated at the task on hand. I think they lose touch that they are actually working and healing human beings. My doctor is a professor and the director at Indiana University School and hospital. The students just seem like zombies.

We here in Latvia are just trying to learn thinking, since in Soviet times all answers were ready made. Many went straight into religion and keep saying: Bible tells and Bible orders, though usually it turns out quite the opposite way. USA is also popular: because of the correct attitude towards all minority groups and healthcare. As to the attitude -journalists and politicians keep telling that in America we will not be able to tell and do things that are common here....But healthcare is although question- budget is shrinking, there is no real health insurance and only some 5-10% of people able to pay for policy.
