The Clown's Prayer - in Honour of Sasha

0 Recommendations

Friends of Darling Peggy,

(please see Beachbabe's latest "Deck" if you haven't already)

"As I stumble through this life,
help me to create more laughter than tears,
dispense more cheer than gloom,
spread more cheer than despair.

Never let me become so indifferent,
that I will fail to see the wonders in the eyes of a child,
or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.

Never let me forget that my total effort is to cheer people,
make them happy, and forget momentarily,
all the unpleasantness in their lives.

And in my final moment,
may I hear You whisper:
“When you made My people smile,
you made Me smile.”

thank you beachbabe and GGC
i had the pleasure of being with peggy in boston.
she was so centered in her faith
so strong to stand as a survivor of 17 yrs
so compassionate
so giving
so loving
she made a difference in the world
she will be missed

Where one goes, we all go...

And I know we all now have a guardian angel sitting on our shoulders dressed like Sasha the Clown! Peggy got so very much from her relationships with everyone on this site, and I have no doubt her strong faith will enable her to serve her fellow mets sisters from the hereafter.

I am still AMAZED that Peggy was able to navigate the Boston T (dragging me along with her!), walk through Fanueil Hall, stand as a survivor at the conference, and LAUGH with all of us at Dick's (can't make this stuff up!) She sat in that restaurant wearing a goofy hat and LIVED. That's all any one of us is really asking for...God, please let us LIVE and LAUGH just a little more.

Peggy, you made a difference, thank you. Here's the info her daughter shared:

I am Peggy Redding's daughter, Wendy Randolph. I am very sorry to tell you that Peggy passed away on June 4. It was very sudden but she passed peacefully in her sleep. We tried to contact as many people as we could but I am sorry we missed you. Funeral services were Wednesday Jun 17. A friend of hers posted some video from the memorial celebration:
http://jannetwalsh.blogspot.com/2009/06/peggys-memorial.html

You can also find her obituary in the Orlando Sentinel (it appeared June 14). Go to:
http://www.legacy.com/orlandosentinel/DeathNotices.asp
And search for her by last name and date.

Again, I am sorry we were not able to get the news out to everyone.

Sincerely,
Wendy Randolph

I have not been a member very long, but I certainly will miss her smiling face and good advice. I know also that she will be watching over all of her sisters with a smile.
God Bless You!

crazy gracie

thanks beachbabe for posting info from her daughter!

Hmmm...Peggy...then Farrah Fawcett...then Michael Jackson...can that girl put together a conga line or what?????

Hey, they clown around in heaven, I know they do! And
I think that may be they're having a big circus in heaven and Peggy is leading the parade of clowns, with her colored feather boa flying in the breeze! You just know that she is strutting her stuff, with vibrant Ora around her, with a big smile knowing that her suffering is over now and only the blessed happiness lies ahead for her. She'll be there to welcome us home one day and we too will be marching in her parade!

I bet they are all Moonwalking now with Sasha in the lead showing them all (Michael Jackson included) how to do it. We had a thunder and lightening storm here last night, I bet that was them getting the band tuned up! Though could they be just a little bit quieter next time - some of us were trying to sleep!

A special clown hug ((((to everyone today)))) Vicki XX

The Clown's Prayer is a perfect tribute to Peggy GGC, thanks so much for posting it. BB thanks for letting us know about Peggy's death and for the links that celebrate her life. I'll miss her cheerful clownface, her words of encouragement and her constant optimism!

I think most of all I'll remember the enthusiastic way she planned for the Boston trip and all the extras she delighted in putting into place for that event! Even though at the last minute I ended up not attending, she certainly fired up my enthusiasm as we planned the Inspire gathering. From the memories of all who did make it to Boston, it seems that Peggy left an indelible impression ... Peace to Peggy, Peace to all.

She was one of the first to correspond with me here. I will deeply miss her.

i am crying a river to think i will not see that happy clown face here again'. what a blessed soul with lessons for us all.
live give and love while we are here and fight to the end. so happy she went peacefully.
thanks beach.
you are our clown angl now, peggy.

I didn't know Peggy, but I felt her strong and warm spirit when I read her posts. I will think of her each and every time I see a clown :>

I have been out of town and missed this sad news till now. I was one of the lucky ones, I got to meet Peggy on May 28th. I live in south FLA and we had arranged to meet at her house in Orlando while I was up there to see my daughters. I am still in shock that she passed so quickly, as when I saw her she was talking about her next trip. Although she was quite tired and requested I leave after our visit of a good hour or so. I was so impressed with her generous spirit and good nature. I know her faith was strong, as we talked about what spirituality meant to her and how she manifested the strength she needed to fight this alligator for as long as she did. She was a gallant warrior. I am so glad to hear that her passing was peaceful. I am sure Sasha is laughing in a much better place. May her family and friends find peace in memories of her.

Thank you to all of you wonderful women on this site. We hold each other up, we cry together and we celebrate together. We are a sisterhood even though none of us would ever chose this for ourselves or anyone else either. But nonetheless, here we are and it feels so good to me to have this support and inspiration, and love from everyone of you. I'm very thankful for all of the knowledge shared and caring from everyone. Colleen, and Heather, you are both so "right on" for all of us and I appreciate you both in my life. I personally say "thank you" and I'm filled with gratitude for the gentle and loving way that you shared the news about Peggy's passing on to the next chapter. God be with you all and keep you all in His tender, loving care.

God Bless Peggy. Now she is in peace in the arms of the Lord.
Love, Rebecca

I will miss Peggy's wonderful posts. She's clowning around in heaven, putting on a good show!!! I know she'll hold a space for the rest of us for when our time comes!

Good bye, Peggy! See ya around!

I had the great pleasure of meeting Peggy in Boston - An amazing women...I know she is now teaching my mom how to be a clown - it was the one thing she wanted to do and now has someone to teach her... God Bless - you will be missed but your spirit will live on.
