On the King's Highway - Living in the now! With sarc; heart problems ++++

Greetings! Life keeps on being interesting, certainly not boring. Wish I didn't have brain fog! Actually there are a lot of things I wished I didn't have. Funny, not too many things that I wish I had. Hmmmm!
Wish one of the kids would call my husband. I know we are in church most of the day. We don't come home between services because of the cost of gasoline. There's always the cell phone.
What I did have is today. We have a small group of children that also hang out at the church all day. Wow! Actually it provides a safe place for them. I used to do a lot a praise and worship with flags, dance and mime, but went down to doing none of it; now working back up. For starters I took my inhaler before both services. Had some afib while singing and playing the piano - it makes me short of breath. I'm not willing to quit. Cut down, but not stop. After lunch I asked the children and young people if they wanted a CD on so they could use the flags and ribbons. They were really excited. The songs in the being were very upbeat, and I enjoyed praising the Lord with them, and moving around quite a bit. Occasionally taking a small breather. Told them to keep going. We got to some slower ones, and then I remembered the mime (semi-mime- sorta - I don't know how to do any of this stuff - I just do it).
The words were very powerful and the children caught on very quickly. I stand at the back so they can see what to do. By doing movements to the words, the meaning of the songs get down inside them, and help them with life's problems. Our pastor (the Mrs. - in our church both husband and wife are ordained - She joined in. I'm also giving her piano lessons. None of these kids have much and 2 of the families are looking at homelessness in the immediate future. But we all had today. They worshipped and ministered with the song in the meeting, and those in attendance (at least half are homeless or are in half-way houses). It went really well, and you could tell the children felt good about themselves.
My husband told me he didn't want to hear anything tomorrow - that's why today is today - today the hip hurts a little - I can still move - today my heart pretty much behaved - took awhile to get the heart rate down - and today I felt good inside and so did a lot of other people.
When I find the words printed out for the song, I will put them on. Remember, brain fog.
(Chorus) All that I am, all I can be, All that I ave, all that is me, Accept and use, Lord, as you would choose, Lord, right now, today. Take ev'ry passion, ev'ry skill, Take all my dreams and bend them to your will. My all I give, Lord, for youI'll live, Lord, come what may.
vs 1 Often I come with my problems and cares, running to you when distressed. But I must bring you the whole of my life. Lord, I must give you my best.

Life has no purpose unless it is yours, Life without you has no goal. All that fulfills me is doing your will, knowing that you're in control. The song is copyrighted, but if you cannot find it, I will let you know individually where you can locate it.

So today I bring myself, with all its imperfections, all the pain, all the illnesses, warts and all - here they are -sarcoid, heart, hip and everything else - I know I'm complete in Him. God bless and strengthen you all.

Can't wait to talk to the grandson - he arrived back safely from Australia and is now at camp, working.

I used to love praise and worship with flags and ribbons. Havn't been able to do that in a long time. Havn't been able to go to church for awhile because mornings are difficult. We do not have an evening service. God bless!

Hi! Thanks for sharing - read your profile and your other posts. Wow! My husband and I have been married 48 years and I'll be 69 in Oct. Any hobby or anything we can do sure helps to get the mind off of what is going on in our bodies and negative feelings. Going with another journal, hopefully today. I have the next 2 days off. Don't know what I'll get done.
Sell on ebay - helps with some of the bills, especially the medical ones. The heart doctor's office was so nice; they called and asked what we could afford to pay a month. That's what I call a good heart.
Our soon to be 16 year old grandson loves photography, and the family gave us 2 of his photos with Bible verses on them - nicely framed - one of the waterfalls at camp and the other of the path leading up to the waterfalls. He'll be at camp most of the summer because he is on music staff, along with his one brother and the brother's girl friend. The older one's twin has classes at college part of the summer - the college has somewhat of a different schedule than most. Maybe I'll have some more pictures.
I'd liketo start taking some photos again, but right now the multiple photos I take are for items I sell on ebay - quite a challenge and not always the best. Can't afford a new camra right now.
I started with the flags and ribbons about 15 years ago when it wasn't quite so common. I saw a group at Women's Aglow, and said to myself the kids would really like that. I went out and bought some material and dowels; also some wide wireless ribbon. My husband fastened them with the fish swivelers or what ever they are called. When the children saw the material their eyes lit up. I cut and glued. Didn't know if the ministers in our church would allow it, but there was no problem. I also bought turtle-neck long sleeve shirts, wide, wired decorative gold ribbon that I used for waist bands, and set about making full length skirts for the girls and bought white sweatpants for the boys. Eucalypticus branches, decorated with ribbon flowers and long narrow ribbons gave the girls wreaths for their hair. Macrame hoops with lots of narrow ribbon glued on gave us ribbon hoops for the younger children. I didn't know how to do any of this. Just said, Lord help me, I don't know what I'm doing. He did. The children just felt so special. I'm just starting back, and the children all know to keep on going when I stop, and the new minister, she's doing real well, and she has that Island Flair, which is great. One of the girls is a real natural, and a born leader.
Think maybe tomorrow, after I make some doctor appointments, I'll try to start back on my oldest grand-daughter's afghan - she's been waiting 6 years for it.
I'll be praying for you and all the tests you are going through, that all will go well. God bless! Great-Gram

Thanks for the encouragment, Gram.
You mentioned Women's Aglow. I have been in that for 27 yrs...off and on. I was president of our local west side chapter for several years. It has seemed to lose its momentum right now and perhaps it was for a season. I made many wonderful friends that I still see to this day....they are a source of joy and a true gift from God. Hope you have a great day...God bless!

Hi! Good to hear from you -- today was a semi-loafing day - a day off - grand-daughter stopped by for a few minutes - she sure has fun driving her red convertible - it's her daddy's old one. She acts like she was back in the 1950's - jumping over the door to get in - all 5" ll" and 200 plus pounds. She is solid - wants to get so she looks good in a bathing suit - she's 20 and is trying to go back to college - waiting for a loan to be approved. She'll be going to a small college in sunny Florida if it all works out.
It's just amazing to me how many of us have things in common other than our health issues. Our Women's Aglow started back up, they folded for awhile. Can't get there because it is in the evening on a day when I work. It also runs too late at night for me. I was worship leader for awhile and played keyboard and piano. God bless - take care of yourself. Great-gram
