Improving health care

0 Recommendations

I have an idea for installing a better healthcare system. I have written a proposal that I feel will revolutionize how we look at health care. My problem is no one is interested???

How can I get 15 minutes from someone who can make a difference?

May I ask what your idea is?

Me too?

i'd like to know also,please:)

hmmm,it might be a good idea to contact your congressmen,or try the local ombudsman.they may wnot only want to hear you,but may help you get the ball rolling.best of luck.never ever give up hope, keep the faith, and keep smiling :) :) :)

I would love to share my thoughts on improving health care, but the proposal is several pages long and I don't want to clog up this chat site. How would be the best way to present it to you?

You are correct in recommending my Congressman. I wrote them, no answer as of yet.

If you have something to say express yourself. It is important to understand what you feel the problems
are in order to advise you. Our healthcare is replete
with problems and there is definitely no easy fix.

Is healthcare a right and how far does this right extend?

In today's climate, healthcare has to be looked at
from a cost-benefit perspective which is difficult to quantify.

I can get the proposal to Barack Obama's staff for you.

Well first if it involves more government intervention, forget it. That is why it is so hard to get and so expensive today. The people that have no business savvy and have never finished one project under budget are already involved. They look at the last "stimulus package" as but one purpose and that is to finally drain us of all our resources and make us dependent on them so they can point to how "benevolent" they are. Meanwhile we lose all our individual power and rights to determine our own destiny. Our only remaining hope is to put ourselves out of range from the government and form our own private associations and co-ops. I do not have time to get into it here but the private sector must come up with a good barter system and a monetary system based on a stable precious metal basis. The fiat currency printed by the Fed will continue to inflate and become more worthless as more is printed. There is no easy answer except to turn every incumbent out on his ear and the new guys will get the message that we mean business and we intend to take our country back and stand by the Constitution. Rely on God and keep your powder dry. God save this country.
Joe

Joe, you response is a little dark without knowing what my plan is. I agree with you about goverment intervention, but I would rather have seen the trillion of dollars spent on bail outs spent on health care. This is a time where EVERYONE, EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD deserves available and quality health care.

Jsanders, I will try and get it you by the end of next week. I am out of town right now.

I have no hope of my proposal being actualized. But, too me, it seems the only practical approach and it answers many problems, not just health care. It provides jobs, a path for the young and many of the disabled. It provides quality of care, improves the work force and will provide many with self esteem.

You have to contact all of the law makers who
you think will be sympathetic to fixing health care.

Perhaps you could contact George Stephanopolous
with ABC News. He talks with law makers all the time.

You have to make phone calls, e-mail and get it out there. You never know.

Mikey, the problem with your suggestion is most politicians already have their own agenda and it is difficult to re-direct them. Here I do agree with Joe Rigg. I am not putting down Obama. I am not sure anyone could fix what is going on with our goverment. And all of us have become complacent. We don't want to lose our comfortable beds and regular meals-and I am no different. I feel that our governing parties have become self rewarding at the expense of the rest of us. I no longer feel that anyone in Washington is working for me.

Jsanders, I was thinking I could probably send it to you faster via email. Do I have your email address? Or do you have mine?

Ooooo I have a really good idea that might help!

I am listening. But before we make a mad dash to expose my proposal, I would like a few people to look at it. Jsanders said he would. Anyone else want to spend some dry time reading my proposal. Give me an email address and I will send it to you.

But, Nina372 tell me what is on your mind.

Yes I would like to know your plan. I know this forum is devoted to health issues but unfortunately health care has become a big power grab for politicians. I am an old guy who has been watching politics and politicians since Eisenhower. Over the years I have learned a few things: Don't go by party, Left or Right etc. Only watch what they promise and then see what they do. Hate to sound dark again but I am convinced that most have an agenda: Globalism. Americans are too rich and too free. The New World Order will take care of that! Look at your present healthcare and your retirement plan to see where we are heading. Sorry to be bearing bad news but there is still good news and that is there are still a lot more of us than there are of them. George Washington and his small, rag-tag army did not have that advantage. Greatly outnumbered by the Brits and their allies, he fought on behalf of right not might and look at what he accomplished!!

LET'S KEEP IT DEVOTED TO HEALTH ISSUES!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to know what it is you can send it to Globesaver1990@aol.com :)

As for the idea if people on inspire each from a different state is willing to send it to their congressman They can find an address to write or e-mail their congressman by going to www.house.gov/writerep/ I'm sure that if your plan is a really good one then out of all of the congressman that hears about it at least one of them might think its a good idea. If it is a good idea I'm willing to send it to my congressman.

I don't know if this will be any help, but I hope it will.

send it to me at jwa2@indiana.edu

Good luck in getting anything worthwhile approved by the government. There is just too much political pressure by the drug companies, and the medical corporations, and other corporations (all who are out to make a profit). And the doctors and other health care professionals are all highly influenced by the same thing - what they hear and learn is from those with the money to get their opinions out there. Lobby groups have far more influence than the average person, who is often kept in the dark and really doesn't understand the issues anyway.

Alternative health care options, which often are more effective for a lot of problems, are pushed aside, or even removed as available options. The recent government moves to control the natural suppliment industry, which for many problems has better solutions, with fewer if any side effects, is one example. The government move to allow irradiated food (where the enzymes which help digestion, are destroyed or modified to extend the shelf life) to be sold without even marking it as such is another. Yet another is the food labelling that is allowed which says "No TransFats", or similar labels, when the ingredients clearly say "hydrogenated" (which means that the health fats have been made into transfats), simply because the amount is below a defined level (the body does not know how to deal with transfats, and they often apparenlty clog the cell walls, reducing overall cell efficiency - and at least one study shows that simply adding small amounts of transfats will cause someone with stable weight to gain weight). And the various FDA and FTA actions against various treatments, suppliments, etc, which are not harmful, and which have helped a number of people, is yet another example. Those are examples of how this affects the average individual.

How does this affect those with SCI? Well, have you seen any of the leading edge research? Doesn't it hold out a lot of hope for progress? But how much funding is out there for this? Most funding for research comes from either the drug companies or foundations that are somehow connected with the drug companies, and there is not a lot of interest in developing or promoting anything which might be effective in reducing sales. The rare exceptions are in areas where there might be things or processes that can be patented, etc, for a profit. Or research labs like Dr. Anders', which is associated with the Bethesda Naval Hospital (and there is a strong military and veteran interest in helping those with SCI). Going beyond the initial research, how easy is it, especially in North America, to even get basic approval for experimental trials, even if the technologies are ones that are not harmful, and where no other options seem to be available (typical of many of the SCI situations)? There is simply no streamlined system to allow for doctors or therapists to legally work with people using what are considered "experimental" technologies. Extensive studies are needed first. Only then will the needed approval be given for even limited experimental studies.

Learning 1 I don't like what you said, mostly because I agree with most of it.

I have a surprise visit today from my daughter and grandson. I will try and get my proposal out tomorrow.
