does hpv ever really go away

0 Recommendations

Hey there...I received my 1st hpv results 3/29/08. I have been married for 27 years and have had 1 partner. 3 months after very wide range of hpv numbers, i had a colposcopy and paps every 3 mo. my last 2 showed no signs of hpv. what are the odds of it staying gone? I seem to have a continous cough with no other symptoms, so i find myself worrying about throat cancer (ive read this is an oral disease). your opinions are welcome. i just walk along with 60,000 other in the "race for a cure" for breast awareness in my city. it was incredible. i pray this will get the same attention, as that will be the only way we can find a cure. all of your stories are so great, and i pray for all of you to find the peace and joy you deserve. some day they will let us know there is a vacine for young men that will start to end this.

Dreamwings - I share your fear. I have had a heaviness in my chest for several months. I do cough from it, but not consistently. I did have a chest xray last November and it was clear. I'm hoping it's just something else... going to a dentist on Thurs. to have a Velscope exam. I may make a ENT appt. too....

hey jamiegirl, where are you with hpv? i read that smokers have higher chance of this (i quit 10 yrs ago) im 45 now and try to work out and eat well. ive tried aloe vera (pure form from a nutrition store). ive drank it and dused (im sure thats spelled wrong, ive never really wrote that word before). ive also gone through periods of organic eating. im game to try anything, i feel like my age is against me at this point. i know my immune system is probably droping. tell me more about you??

In a nutshell, I am 44, turning 45 in September, never smoked. I was dxed with hr hpv in 2005- my pap was normal. In 2006 or 2007, my pap was mildly abnormal. I didn't do a LEEP then but tried to heal naturally with Betamannan - an aloe and vit. E capsule which I swallowed and used as a vaginal suppository. My next pap was normal but then the colpo 6 moths later showed HSIL, so I opted for the LEEP in Dec. '08. Just had my 6 mo. pap (at which I found out I have hpv 16) and it is normal. I also tested hpv negative there. I did however find out that I have hpv in my anal canal. Anal pap was normal though. I work out and eat pretty well too (organic as much as I can). I also drink aloe vera juice, take bee propolis extract, omega 3's ( very important for your health in general!!!use a good one like Nordic Naturals fish oil and combine it with borage oil which is a different form of omega 3) , CoQ10, and a bunch of other vitamins and supplements. I ordered the MMS which many on here recommended, but have yet to receive it. I am also going to get DIM, which is recommended for dysplasia too. You are still young so don't feel like age is against you!!!

im turning in now...i work long days, but thanks for sharing. what were the last 2 things you mentioned? MMI and Dmi? im always wanting to hear what others are doing. your regimen sounded good, ill be trying it. also, if you dont mind me asking, what sparked the anal check? ill catch back up soon.

DIM has been part of clinical trials that have shown it helps to clear active cervical hpv infections. it's a natural product found in cruciferous vegetables (such as kale, bok choy, brussel sprouts, etc.) and is also now found in supplements. you can learn more info at www.dimfaq.com

Definitely check out FSL's link above - it's very interesting.

I was worried about anal hpv because I've had anal sex in the past, although it's been almost 6 years since the last time I had it. I figured that I probably contracted hpv there, and that if I had cervical dysplasia, it made sense that anal hpv could cause anal dysplasia.

I wonder, many people mention that if you are younger you can clear dysplasia (in my case CIN1) faster because i am young. But I have noticed and have been told (by my friend that is an RN) that most women may clear HPV now in their 20's but will get a reoccurence when they are older and the immune system starts to weaken. Most (not all of course) women that do get cancer get it in there 30' - 50's. So now I am scared that even if I do clear the HPV now, I may be in for a scare in 10 - 15 years...oh gosh I don't want to believe this.

Iluvtosinga...
sounds like a good theory. i was first told i had an abnormal test when i was 30, it was ascus and gone in three mths. now i'm 40...(just like the gardasil commercial claims) and i was called with lsil, confirmed biospy cin2, leep and now waiting for my second biopsy. i have a weight in heart and my smiles doesn't even feel the same anymore because i fear the same thing. that it will come back, it will get me at some point. so eatting well, taking care of myself is important.

keep in mind that there are now better tests than there used to be in the past. regular hpv testing along with the paps is the best way to detect a problem. hpv testing is relatively new, and that's how some women would end up with cervical cancer, even when they had 'normal' paps....they were false negatives! and, even pap testing technology is better than it used to be...almost all doctors use the thin prep system (or something similar) and the behind the scenes labs have improved in their quality and detection methods.

OK guys. New at this. I was diagn. with HR dysplasia and CIN one a couple years ago. It's never gone away. Not once. Dealing with it since 2007. Four colposcopies later and a lot of $$$$ No doctor acted to concerned about it. (Went to two different ones. They all said, have sex - try to get pregnant (for the first time) as soon as you can. And that was it. Did they feel time was running out? If so, why didn't they say that? Well, I was too scared to try for a baby thinking about the surpressed immune thing. In the mean time, I wasn't proactive online, researching everything. I didn't feel that concerned. So, my partner and I tried anal sex for the first time, (since I was fearful of vagina.) No doc told me to be careful or protect myself or anything...simply that we shared the virus and so we could continue and try for a baby. Anyway, now I am freaking out and it's been for almost 2 years since the anal sex. It was unprotected and I obviously had the infection. IF JUST 1 DOC would have told me it isn't in other areas unless you put it there, I would have NEVER had anal sex especially unprotected. I just didn't it was something my body wouldn't just get over. That's what the dos said. I feel a bit cheated, I am someone who will follow the rules if I'm told what's best. WHY didn't anyone tell me to be safe? I know, maybe it's something I should have just know, but wow....now I am really scared!!!! So, wanting to get checked, I called to go to a clinic where I move to and they said very rudely "we don't do those" meaning anal paps. I called many places and no one would hardly talk to me about it. So, here I sit 2 years wondering. In the mean time I now have iching, pain, constipation that has recently turned to diarehha. Terrified I've waited too long. I'm calling PParenthood this week to see if they do it? Does anyone know how long the cancer takes on average to become full blown? :( I can't sleep this is seriously making me sick every day!

keepingyourlifesafe-I responded to you in the other thread in which you posted this. Look for the info there. You MUST get it checked so at least you know what is going on down there!!
