Road Trip!!

Tomorrow's a big day; I'm leaving in the morning on my first trike (motorcycle) trip. I've had the trike 2 yrs., but hardly got to ride last year cuz of the sudden discovery of CHF, mitral valve repair surgery, and ICD implant.
I'm riding with a group of about 12 to Tulsa, OK to attend the Gold Wing Riders Assoc. huge "Wing Ding" rally. It's about a 325 mile ride up there from my home in E. Texas. We'll attend the rally Thursday, then a woman from near Tyler and I will come back Friday.
Been feeling ok, but did call the cardiologist's office to see if there were any special precautions I needed to take. Just stay hydrated and take plenty of rest stops. The nurse told me that when the doc saw what I was calling about, he said "what's she going to do if I say she can't go?" lol He's a cool guy.
I'm so excited I can't stand it! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd be doing something like this. ;-) Life's gettin' better!!!

You go girl! What a fun trip...just have a great time and remember to keep drinking that water and stop often. Have a fabulous trip. What a huge accomplishment for you...I am so excited for you. Let us know how it goes!

Well you and Lynn are showing the rest of us how to take charge of our lives. You on you exciting road trip and Lynn nestled away in her log cabin. You are showing all of us that heart disease can be dealt with and many, not all of us, can move on to a more exciting life.

I hope you have the time of your life and please let us know how your adventure goes. Be safe and take good care of yourself.

Warm Regards,

Rose

Enjoy!!!!! I wish I had the bottle to do what you're doing.
I'm so glad you're doing this and that you have a cool cardio who didn't try to stop you (as if you'd let him!)
Lidia xx

What a trip to Tulsa and "Wing Ding!!!!" It definitely was HOT. There were only 3 of us (1 guy & 2 girls) riding up there; the others had a shorter ride and got there first. We stopped about every hour for a break; must've gone thru a case of water on the way. lol
The guy we rode with is diabetic, so he had to be careful and my riding buddy lost her husband in January to heart disease, so she kept an eye on me.
Naturally, we spent too much money...........but, gotta have shirts, souviners, and I bought a set of highway pegs for my trike. ;-) It was just my ridin' buddy and me coming back and we had a blast. I'm so glad I met her. She's still dealing with her husband's death and wasn't sure she could make the trip (they'd gone to Wing Ding several times.) I was kinda wondering if I could make the trip, too. But, we did it, and it helped both of us. As a friend, Mary's a "keeper!!" lol
Well, put 650 miles on the trike last week and now I have to get ready for my next trip. Not on the trike, tho. I'm heading to W. Texas next week for my 35th (egad!!!!) high school class reunion.
Making this trip helped me realize I may have to slow down on doing some things, but there sure as hell are a lot of things I can still do. Sure never dreamed I'd make a trike trip like that! I've already been told to get ready for next year's Wing Ding..........in Des Moines, Iowa!

Good for you! I'm glad you are living life to the fullest and enjoying the ride(no pun intended)!
