Crest Syndrome

0 Recommendations

The first rheumatologist I saw diagnosed me incorrectly as having rheumatoid arthritis. The next rheumatologist I saw realized that I have Crest Syndrome, specifically three of the five indicators of the disease: Reynaud's Phenomenon, Sclerodactyly and Telangectasia. I recommend confirming a diagnosis w. at least a second doctor. Never forget that doctors are only human and they make mistakes sometimes.

Did I ever reply to your question for walter_comer's Blog entry, "Therapy!!"? Didn't mean to ignore you if I didn't.

Dear Crest lady,
I also have CREST along w/ autoimmune hepatitis. Only once have I found another person w/ my Dx of the autoimmune hep. Perhaps it's easier to find those w/Crest? Would love to know I'm not alone.

Autoimmune hepatitus. Yikes! Something else to be grateful that I don't have. Crest can't be TOO rare because my dermatologist has several patients who have it, besides me.

What symptoms do you have w. the hep? And what, if anything, do you do about the Crest? I don't take meds cause I don't want the side effects. That decision is subject to change if my symptoms get too annoying. :-)
