New feature: video!

15 Recommendations

I am pleased to announce that we have updated Inspire to support video. You can now share a video of yourself, videos that you find inspirational or informative, and more. I've included one of myself here:

Videos can be included in discussions and journal entries, as well as in your profile in the "about me" and inspiration sections.

To share a video that's already online, visit the video's home page and look for a section named "embed" or "share." You should see some code that you can copy and paste to post the video elsewhere. Just paste that code into your post or profile here. You can share videos from YouTube, Flickr, Google Video, Yahoo! Video and more. If we don't support a site that you think we should, just let us know.

If you want to record and post a video of yourself, there are many sites that provide video hosting. Flickr is one that a few of us at Inspire know and like.

Feel free to share a video that you find inspirational in a reply to this post :)

Brian, thank you so much! You have done such a wonderful job for us. It make take me awhile to figure out how to put on a video of myself but having that option and being able to see others is such a more personal experience. You're the greatest!

Thanks!

Brian -

Thanks for the work you do - keeping us updated and making changes as we voice our complaints and concerns.

Great feature! Anita

Great idea, Brian! Thanks so much.

Hope to put a video soon. Thanks for adding this. "K"

Thanks, everyone, for the great feedback. We'd like to have a contest to encourage others to add video. Any ideas for a theme? Prizes?

Brian

Brian,
This is awesome! It is great to put 'the person to their name' as it like meeting in person. It will also make it easier to share when it is hard to spell/type/communicate what you want to say.
"Person to Person" type of communication makes it like real life interaction.

way to go brian!!

Hmmm... I'd rather that my test video stayed here, instead of taking the viewer to Photobucket. Your advice please, Brian?

Here's a great video from Jim. Thank you!

I just bought a HD camcorder, so this may be my chance to actually LEARN how to use it! After I understand the first page, I'll let you know!! lol.

brian can you make these videos accessible to iPhone format?

Are there any rules against me asking Christie Brinkley to play me in my video?

You are the best!!!

OOOOOOoooooo boy! Now I'm gonna have to comb my hair!

I've always wanted to do a video of myself flying down the Big Hill on my bike on the way to the library.

You've talked me into it.

Whooooeeeeeee!!!!!!

Sherrie

Beachbabe, certainly not. Of course she might reciprocate and ask you to play her as well...

this video was made by a young man with sarcoid

This is what he wrote about the video:
"Video for Moe's video contest. When I first thought about what to create for this contest, I really didn't know what direction to go in. So it came down to 'Shoot what you know' and the only thing I have known for the past few months has been my living room, as I have been recovering from a newly diagnosed disease called Sarcoidosis. This disease has caused me many problems and for the most part has made me a prisoner of my own apartment, espiecially during the months I couldn't really walk. So, this is my video. A time lapse of myself doing what I do while recovering; which is resting, doing my rehab exercises, taking an obscene amount of medicine, and wasting time on the net- all while the world goes by."

I can totally relate to this video

Thanks Brian,, this is a great feature,I have always wanted to interview my husband about his surgery, now I can and put it on here,,,and he can share his story with fellow b/c friends..

Brian - I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. I have a .wmv file on my computer - can I use this one? If not, I can get it from utube, but where does it go? Sorry for being so computer illiterate.
Susan

Thanks Brian! I don't know other people's inspiration but this is mine...

The next one will have sound, I promise. She's a riot ;) Thanks for letting me share, Jon
