BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE

Have you ever thought that life is here to teach you some sort of a lesson wether it be money, health, family? EVERYONE has one of these life problems. I was born with Hereditary Sphereocytosis. I have been sick most of my life. I have endometriosis, sphereocytosis, poly overian cyst syndrome....you get the picture. I have had cancer of the appendix (which is 1% of black males HELLO I AM A WHITE FEMALE! lol) I am going on my 11th surgery and I am only 31 years old!!! My 3 babies have it. I hear from other people who have a child or spouse that is sick more than the average bear. My advice to them is ENJOY the good days. Live them up as EVERY human being should, sick or not. Be thankful for the good days.

I go to Cardinal Glennon with my 2 yr. old, 1 yr. old, and 6 month old who ALL have this disease also. As I look around I always think life could be soooo much worse. No granted people don't understand having an illness.... I have lost friends over this, if you call them that. I have many that sick by me too though. My best friends are my sister, my mom, and a girl from Kindergarden! We need to apprecicate ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that we have. Wether it be good health....LOL we wouldn't be on this if we did huh? We have a roof over our head, a job, income, a family, friends, what ever it maybe.

Being sick has made me a MUCH more adaptable person. It has taugh my husband some tollerance as well as understanding....which he did not have much of either. So take it all in stride. Take the good days with the good days. Be thankful for what you have and take it one day at a time. EVERYTHING can be worse! Enjoy the life that you can.

i agree i am naturally optimistic and i'm not saying i'm positive everyday everyone has days where they have had enough and are fed up. I also have lost friends and my job because of my illness but i have learned so much about myself and feel that i really have weeded out the time wasters and have a fantastic group of friends who I can really rely on for emotional support. My boyfriend of 11 years isn't quite there yet but he is learning growing and adapting everyday and i am grateful for that. My mum currently has lung cancer and it makes me appreciate the little things and how precious life is. I could be alot worse my illness is very painful but i'm looking at it as a challenge to learn and adapt and at the end of the day it isn't life threatening i am greatful for that. I agree with your outlook and you sound like you have amazing courage your kids are very lucky to have a mum like you and i think that lifes plan is for you all to be together as they are and will be learning very important lessons from you.
